I've seen people say something along the lines that the authorities would like to/have been trying to subpoena (members of) the GB (in CSA cases). My question is: why don't they? If the GB are issuing orders to cover up evidence in CSA cases, and otherwise interfere in justice being served in those cases, then they are accessories before (and after) the fact, and theoretically can be arrested and charged as such. The WT bunker can't keep out police with proper arrest warrants.

Door to Door
by pontoon injust wondering if the witnesses still go door to door.
once in a while i see them doing their cart work and my still in relatives talk about going out in cart work, never mention door to door.
i haven't had a knock on my door since probably 2 years before covid.

I would like to qualify that I was never rude or nasty (unless that's how they chose to interact first). I would say that my approach can be a little "intense" at times. šš¤„šµ
And I always make it about the GB, not them personally. Hence "your cowardly Governing Body".

LV101: "Why they'd need to worry about losing any tax exemptions is slim -- they jump to authoritative demand"
They used to be recklessly fearless. Rutherford went to jail for his agitation. Knorr happily sent young men like Terry to jail rather than allow a civilian work in lieu compromise over the draft.
Now, the slightest whiff of government resistance and they fold like a seven high poker hand. š

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

"maybe Tony is sleeping with the fishes."
Not impossible. Given that he's disappeared without a trace. Would the GB be that ruthless? Possibly. Would they have the balls? Probably not. No, there's been a great coverup involving lots of NDAs and other legal undertakings. Their ability to keep a lid on this when so much else leaks like a sieve is impressive.

Are GB subject to the meeting requirements? He may have special dispensation due to the circumstances.

The intrigue is palpable!
If you ever cross paths remember to use the correct sign and countersign:
You: The moulting dove sings a mournful song
AM3: I like my butterfish with extra butter

TxNVSue2023: "Not former the emphases has always been on the preaching work, not necessarily just the door to door method. The d2d is the most popular method, yes but it's never been the only method. During Covid witnesses still preached - it just went to letter writing."
I've had JWs bully me over the fact that going door to door is the living proof that they are Jehovah's chosen religion; the main distinctive, the life saving work. Isn't there even a Kingdom song that goes something like "House to house and door to door"? At least there is one decontextualised) verse that mentions Paul going house to house. There's no scriptural basis for a letter writing campaign.
IMO, stopping the door to door work was the day the GB collectively lost their trousers. Having dropped a doctrine that they leaned on so heavily, so easily, they might as well light up a smoke and call it a day!

Just had a thoughtā¦
by Vidiot ini been reading quite a few experiences on reddit lately, and their seems to be a common theme coming upā¦.
ā¦dialed-up-to-eleven shunning of xjws by their witness relatives.. it reminds me of back in the day, listening to some of the over-the-top vitriol displayed by hard-core loyalists when the topic of evolution or apostates came upā¦.
ā¦i was gobsmacked when i finally realized these guys werenāt offended and indignant because they thought it was liesā¦.

"...maybe someone ought to remind the GB that going around jabbing folks with a stick until one of āem finally gives you a black eye doesnāt make you āpersecutedā.
It just makes you an asshole."
You've said that before; a great observation! šÆ I hope I can remember it verbatim, should the local JWs ever venture back to my door...
I'll try to be kinder this time, I promise! š¤

The Date for the Memorial is WRONG this year!
by Kelley959 inan interesting video was on youtube with a person claiming that the memorial date for 2024 was wrong.
so i consulted three different jewish calendars online and sure enough, he appears to be right.
i went back to 2014 and forward to 2027. they have the future dates listed.

It's one of those straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel things. They place great store in getting the right date, for an event in which no-one participates. It's like turning up to a football match; the referee puts the ball on the field, and no players turn up. 90 minutes later, everyone goes home.
They could always go with: the Jews are no longer Jehovah's representatives on Earth; why would they be more correct than his true channel?

"ten bucks says householders like you are the reason the Orgās phasing out the door-to-door work faster than you can say āknock, knock"
I always enjoy a robust conversation on the doorstep. I'm usually more congenial. As I said, I wasn't well on the day.
