That may be so, Rattigan, but it's more fun when worded our way...

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

Personally, I don't think that falling asleep during GB meetings is all that unusual for most GB members*. I also don't believe for a minute that the apologists on Quora have any inside information on the AM3 situation, anymore than we do. I was just amused to see them so confidently declaring the solution to one of the WT'S most tightly guarded recent secrets. And they did actually say "mentally diseased apostates". π They obviously read and memorise their lines well.
*They're old men; it happens.

The apologists on Quora have answered the question and told the mentally diseased apostates (yes, they said that) to go away: "There's nothing to see here!".
Apparently Tony is medically retired due to, wait for it: Narcolepsy! That's right folks, Tony was always falling asleep in GB meetings! π
No wonder the GB told the JW rumour mill to shut up! It's a pity that the R&F aren't following orders the way they used to.

I was walking through Beth-el one day,
In the merry, merry month of May,
I was taken by surprise,
By the Virgin Mary's eyes,
In an icon that they had displayed.
I wonder if they'll ever start talking about Mary. It's Catholicism that they always compare themselves to.

Why does it matter whether or not Armageddon is near?
by TxNVSue2023 inwhy does it matter whether or not the end of the world ( (armageddon) is near?
if it was next week, next year, next decade, next century?
what is to be gained by knowing how close or far it is?

Ron.W. "ps. Here we have a 'newly reinstated' person starting threads on an apostate web site - anyone know what cong the poster is from so we can report them to their congregation elders for loving scriptural correction/wt brainwashing??"
It's a nice idea, but she already suffers Stockholm Syndrome; she was out of their clutches but voluntarily chose to submit herself to their rule. She's suffering enough already.
Every WT apologist that comes here breaks the WT rules by doing so. So, what do they actually believe: that Jehovah can't see what they're doing? That the rules of the GB aren't ultimately Jehovah's rules?
Cognitive dissonance is weird.
Personally, I think she's struggling with a lot of issues and this is her outlet. I don't see any harm in that, except perhaps for the insults against people who try to reason with her. It's not like insults from apologists aren't a dime a dozen. If she thinks she's making an impact on the GB's behalf, she's mistaken.

Moving on in a new chapter
by redsetter2 inmoving on is the hardest thing anyone has to cope with.. i have officially left the org.
and now it feels my family have been waiting to do this for a long time, officially shunning me, even though they were practically doing this whilst i was still in.. it feels like i've accomplished a victory and at the same time i feel guilty i was tangled up in communication with someone who "hid who they were" claiming to leak information from bethel.
i got the call from the man who i thought i worked with.

"Who knows?
All the recent changes. Perhaps the Borganization has been laughing at the rank and file all along."
It's hard to tell. A few here believe that the GB genuinely believe their own press, that they are special and have a special link to God. Perhaps they even believe that they "wuv you all vewy, vewy much!" and that what they do is for the benefit of the flock.
I imagine that, being at the top of the pyramid, their cognitive dissonance is the strongest.

Months on, and still no news on Tony?
Any Bethel leakers in a better position to leak?

Things you can not say in "field service" anymore.
by greenhornet inmany years ago we would be on someone's doorstep, when waiting for the house holder to come to the door we say something like ... yea after the big a this is going to be my house.
imagine saying that today with the common use of doorbell cameras and the squatting problem .

If it's true that the new witnessing approach is to not actually witness, but just to "chat", then can they even be called Jehovah's Witnesses any more? Is "witnessing" itself something you can't say in field service?

Disaster preparedness
by ElderBerry inas your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.
also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.
please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.

Mikejw: "If it really comes to that need blood then take it rather than dying, but you generally get better care if they know they canβt just pump blood into you so easily"
"They" don't just "pump blood into" people willy-nilly. Blood is a precious life-saving resource that "they" save for those whom "they" determine really need it. It's rare, so it's used sparingly.
The HLC's job is to make sure that JWs die with a clear conscience. Don't kid yourself about them existing for any higher motive.
