Funny grammatical errors by foreigners......

Some funny stuff here. My husband and I used to sell real estate so a huge pet peeve of mine is calling a realtor a real-a-tor. Really annoys me. Funny thing is, the worst offenders are mortgage brokers who have to work with realtors to earn a living. Having worked for mortgage companies as well, I can assure you I have never met a loan officer who got that one right.

PPS I won't mention the name of the poster but losing is spelled with one o not two. Kind of bugged me when I read it.

Wondering whether or not to join the Air Force

i'm new here and i have some questions about joining the air force or not.

i'm 21 years old, i was raised as a jehovah's witness but stopped going when i was 13 because i was a kid and thought it was boring (like school).

even after i quit going i still done things that were right or i tried to still live by what i was taught and i'm greatful that i was raised that way because it kept me out of a lot of trouble and made me who i am today.

After reading your post I think you have already made the decision in your heart. You know the best thing FOR YOU is to join the AF. It bothers me that you feel you should stay behind to take care of your father's drinking, your mother's cheating and your brother's drug use. You need to break free and live your own life. I bet you haven't done that yet have you? You family knows they have their own problems and they have the power to change them. You do not. You need to take care of yourself for a change. I personally do not think God cares if you join the air force, the elder's do. Whose opinion do you value more? Since you don't leave until October, stick around this board and read a bit. It should help.

independence day the day we left the borg the day we finally became free.

people destined to lead their own lives and not be held in bondage by anyone, not any organization religious or otherwise.

Who are these elders???

having only started to study with a jw she has yet to inform me of these elders, the book she gave me says a little, but after reading this board i see there is more i have yet to learn.

who are these elders?

i'm picturing a bunch of old men in velvet purple robes sitting around a circular table.

Hey Francoise, I was an elder's daughter! I was not put up on a pedestal and I have a brother that was df'd while a teenager. Not exactly minimal consequences.

My dad (and Venice's) were among the rare kind elders who really did care and try to help. Unfortunately many are as stated above.

Don't try to meet any Freakshow. Walk away. I did and so did my dad, the elder.

I never thought of celebrating an independence day from the borg. What a fabulous idea! The last time I (we) set foot in a KH was memorial 1997. HOORAY!

Tomorrow we are going to the heart of our pretty little town located on Puget Sound to register our babes ages 3 & 4 in the kids parade. We will all be wearing our matching Old Navy flag shirts and my prince and I will march along side the kids as they ride their little bikes complete with training wheels and decorated with tiny flag windsocks on the handlebars. I can't wait. We plan to eat pancakes at the Sons of Norway annual July 4th pancake breakfast. After the parade we are going to a big BBQ with all our friends (none have ever been remotely interested in JWs).

Should be a "blast".

the first survey i asked how you were brought into the non-truth.

my next survey is along the same line, however what i would like to find out is on the average how many hours you spent in the field service and were you ever able to bring anyone into the non-truth via field service or via incidental witnessing.. and how long you were associated with the borg?.

I can't remember when I started publishing (ask Mulan) but I kept it up until about age 25 when I started lying about the hours.
Averaged around ten a month I suppose. Never pioneered except the occasional aux.

Brought one really sweet lady in. Unfortunately she is a single mother of two young girls. Wish I could get them back out.

Finally quit for good at age 26.

Suggestions for baby names please

we would like to ask you good folk ( the bad ones can play as well) for suggestions for baby names.

its getting close now and we need ideas.

we dont know the sex yet.

I have a niece named Graysen, I think it's really a pretty name although I would have spelled it different. They call her Gracie at times. Ran into a little boy with the same name one day, spelled Greyson. That works too.

I named my son Rhys, here in the states no one knows how to pronounce it, they all call him Rise (long i). Drives me crazy but I wasn't about to americanize such a great name and spell it Reese.

If you have a girl she will be your princess...that would be a good name.

Hi Sarah, welcome! It took me awhile to post too. My husband and I left after our first baby was born, we didn't want the borg directing our lives anymore among other reasons...

It sounds like you are well on your way to a great life with your husband and kids. Enjoy! Get the tatoo, who cares what the JWs think. I celebrate all the holidays and they don't df me. I wouldn't care if they did though.

Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

I remember being out in service right after someone had been df'd and a sister said "Jehovah always cleans house before memorial". It seemed to be fairly true, I wonder if they went on a witch hunt when the time was drawing near.
