  i find myself finally becoming accustomed to the fact that i am single again.

  i am no longer thinking in couple terms and i now cook to please only me.

  it's fun and scary all at the same time.

  I am looking for someone who is kind-hearted, generous in spirit, honest, down to earth, positive, responsible and reliable. A guy who knows how to treat a lady with respect and honor. And someone who is equally happy lazing around at home as he is having a night out.

  You don't have to be a millionaire, but I'm not in the position to financially support anyone either.

  I'd like to have children one day, so I am looking for a relationship with a view of going permanent.

  If I haven't scared you off yet, then I'd like to hear from you! :-)

  Let your friends know that you're looking, and if you see/meet someone that you like don't be afraid to let your friends know so they can introduce you/set you up.

  I know it sounds corny but since I'm not a nightclub/bar type of person, I'd much rather meet someone that is known and trusted by mutual friends than trying your luck with a complete stranger.

  What does your online handle mean?

  a few of us use our real names as our handles, but most of us use something else, such as a nickname or a variation of our real name.

  iiz2cool - it was not my nickname (i really don't think i'm all that cool), but that of an old friend named mike prezelj.

  i won't go into how he got the name, but it happened when we were all very high, and you had to be there to understand.

  Prisca = the Latin version of Priscilla, my real name.

  I picked it many years ago for another DB. "Priscilla" was already taken, so I chose something that was still close to my name but unusual at the same time.

  i knew of some jw's that were in such denial that they would want to believe that "they're just sleeping but are still alive to jehovah.

  " others would bust themselves "in the work", while others would "mourn as the nations do".

  Hey, I'll write to Lady Lee's mum too. I think you're a great woman Lady Lee - you have a great depth of compassion and empathy, and always have a healing word to share.

  I think you chose wise words for your father's eulogy. My father is estranged from my sister and I, and I doubt I would have anything good to say about him. He's a JW, so his funeral will probably be a full-on Dub affair. Well, he's 77, so I probably don't have long to wait until that happens.

  My mum died on a Saturday, and we went to the Sunday meeting the next morning. Half the cong already knew the news, but they made the official announcement at the Hall at that meeting. I don't think I got anything from the meeting, although I remember sitting there like a zombie. My sister was normally one of those that answered every second paragraph, but she didn't raise her hand once that Sunday.

  it appears the man had no connection to the jw's previously, he just considered them an "easy mark".

  Anyway you look at it people, these kids are consistently being terrorized! Daily!

  Get a grip Skally. Not every JW child gets molested, so save your dramatics for another day.

  Wednesday, I probably have one of the best senses of humour (you need one to survive this DB) but I am saddened by the lack of compassion for those that went through this attempted robbery.

  The first time anyone close to me died was when my Mum died when I was 11. We were all there around her hospital bed when she died and I think that helped in accepting that she was gone. At the time I was a staunch JW and couldn't understand why my sister was crying so much. "We'll see her (Mum) in the resurrection soon, so why is she crying?" were my words at the time (I don't remember saying them but others have quoted me).

  Over the next decade I lost many other close relatives in death - aunts, uncles and my sole surviving grandmother.

  In a way, having so many of my family die whilst I was so young in a short period of time has in a way desensitised me so when people die it doesn't shock me as much as perhaps it would other people.

  I don't have any firm beliefs on what happens to us when we die, although I do think there is some kind of afterlife. I believe there is more to the universe than our physical life, just what it is remains to be seen.

  okay, it's not like everyone knows that the jw dating website has like a 10 page thread here, but this response that i just got is absolutley horrible.

  i just can't believe that this "witness" wrote this to me!

  It probably doesn't need to be said, but just as a reminder:

  Don't use the same browser to go from this site (or any other ex-jw sites) to JWmatch. The site owners can trace what site you came from before logging onto theirs. So open a new browser or go from a neutral website (like an email site) before logging onto JWmatch otherwise they may crack on that you are a not a legit JW.

  I had thought I had gotten over all this crap.

  this has been a very bad couple of weeks for me.

  i thought i was having a fairly okay relationship with my mother, and even though she was not happy with me not being a jw anymore, she seemed to live with it.

  i have even recently been able to have conversations with my jw younger sister and not come away angry.

  Dealing with JW family is frustrating at times. They don't understand why we left, so they believe what the WTS says about those who leave and treat us accordingly.
