You are in a spot that many of us have been in at some point in our lives. Believe me, you may feel the world's weight upon your shoulders, yet as you begin to sort out your real wants and needs, the path ahead of you will definately become better defined.

page 12 of the january 1,1989 wt original magazine paragraph 8 ends with the statement that the apostle paul's missionary activity laid a foundation for a work that would be completed in our 20th century.".
(a subtle prophecy that 'the end' will come by the year 2000 a.d.).
this sentence is changed in the bound volume reprint to read "a work that would be completed in our day.
And that is why I refuse to throw out any of my loose magazines, in case they decide to edit other copies of their articles.
No doubt the original sentence was the thought of the writer of the article, but we know that all articles are supposed to be signed off by other members of the Writing Committee, so why wasn't it picked up?
i am new to this.. i have a problem.
someone on my ministry asked me about the date that we hold so dear....607 bce and asked me to prove it to them.
this would not be a problem i thought as the f&ds would have solid basis for using such a date.

if you view the works of Carl Olaf Jonsen and Edwin R. Thiele as merely "hypothesies", then why do you not view the WTS's renderings in a similar vein?
And can you provide some irrefutable proof that 607 is the correct date? I would really like to know using non-WTS sources.

I agree, amicus, being surrounded by nature is a more spiritual experience than the grandest cathedral or the newest kingdom hall. Jehovah created the birds, the animals and the forests and waterways. How much closer to God can you get? A man-made building has never given me the impression of being sanctified by Him. How can it? Does it have some mystic glow? Do you feel a magical force enter you when you enter it? Dis you ever hear Jehovah declare it to be His?
Yet when you are in a secluded place, with nothing but the sound of the wind passing by you, in the distance a bird calls, and you're gazing over a beautiful scene of nature, perhaps the ocean with a rolling surf, or a range of mountains covered in trees housing small fauna, or just lazing in your back lawn, examining a fern leaf ...
Doesn't that tell you there is a God? Someone who cares enough to add beauty to His masterpiece, and not just functionality?

She is a classic example of the hypocritical, self-righteous, condemning and totally thoughtless judgemental Witness that we have all seen in the congregations.
Take some of these classic examples :
I feel that our places for discussion were created for the friends not for worldly entertainment, even if it is something as "minor" to you as something you would consider to be a simple joke.
And this is NOT A KINGDOM HALL. We are free to discuss subjects that may be taboo in the KH.
It is clear that you are not close to Jehovah.
So you can read other people’s hearts, can you? Wow, that puts you in the same league as Jesus and Jehovah! Even above the Governing Body and bodies of elders worldwide! Quite a feat, yendell2!

Some elders will listen and others will "go along with what is happening," as all congregations are not the same!!!!!!!! As mentioned before, they differ in the same city and they definitely differ from state to state.
Well so do individuals. We all have different opinions and have different ideas and tastes. Not everyone sees things in black and white.
also you cannot put yourself in the place of anyone else to say that others in these discussion forums feel like you do.
