  actually we can find a lot of the ot in egypt. the jews would have you believe they were great , but they have simply stolen the history of egypt. the story of solomon is a direct copy from his conquests, booty, temple construction, empire boundaries, titles etcof the pharoah amentohep iii.a google search will find many interesting articleswhich are easily verified by scripture and a read about said pharaoh

  in short the jews of the ot, are waanabe egyptians. the more you look the more you look the more similarities you will find.

  i've had a discussion with a friend concerning the gb or org being "inspired" or "spirit-directed" or a "prophet".

  i found the great strings about claiming prophet status (particularly 04/01/1972 wt and 10/01/1982 wts).. it seems i recall a wt or other publication where they compared themselves to moses, or even jesus as the one channel being used by jehovah.

  while i don't recall any claim of "inspiration", there are dozens using "spirit-directed organization".. interestingly, note the reference to jesus:.

  My comments were just about turning water into wine, were just to show that some priests in Egypt had been doing the trick for hundreds of years before Jesus came along. No doubt those stories were known by some if not many throughout the ancient world, thus the need for Jesus to show he was just as powerful or cool. After all if the priests in Alexandria could turn wate rinto wine, and jesus couldnt that would be a big disappiontment. We also see the same copy cat principal in Matthew with his Mary was a virgin impregnated by God story, which of cours eis a common theme in the ancient world. In the OT we have the same miracle births in Samson, Issac, Moses etc.

  i recently read in discover magazine that scientists have found a way to turn on and off memory cells in our brain.

  they say that this is good news for people with post traumatic stress disorder, which i was diagnosed with a few years ago.

  this, to me, brings up the ethical question of what did the traumatic events in my life, and the lives of others, add to society as a whole?

  A snake has a forked tongue which represents speaking opposing things with the same mouth. It's good imagry for the concept of purposeful untruth with intent to decieve. Let's say you need a piece of information from me and I give you what I know to be untruth and then you unknowingly make a wrong judgement based off of it.   So a snake has a Y shaped tongue, so what ? Its only because of the xian influence on our society that we associate snakes with lies. In reality you have been taught that concept, the idea is just ludicrous just like the Eve believing the snake story. By making that statement, you still show that you to some extent still believe snakes are liars or can lie.

  rying to compare meat eaters to psychopaths is a bit over the top...don't you think?

  Imnot comparing the two directly, im simply stating that killing animals is not healthy for ones peacefulness for lack of a better word.

  All im saying is that eatting meat is the first step in a changed mindset. Mankind when they were less carnivorous were a lot more in harmony with nature. Today we eat meat and as a whole are less respectful of the world. Eatting meat is part of the change in society that we call the modern world.

  - Lets also assume the original 80 were half women.

  - Lets assume after 20 years a kid could have their own family and kids.

  - Each couple can have kids for 20 years.

  After the first generation there are 800.

  1st

  80/2 * 10 = 800

  2nd

  400 couples x 10 =

  400/2 * 10 = 4000

  3rd

  2000 couples x 10 =

  4000/2 * 10 = 20000

  4th

  10000 couples x 10

  20000/2 * 10 = 100,000

  5th

  50000 couples x 10

  100,000 * 10 = 1,000,000

  6th

  500,000 couples x 10

  1,000,000/2 * 10 = 5,000,000

  - 200 years

  - 6 generations because each couple needs 20 years to have the required kids.

  - after 6 generations and 200 years our count is about 5M less the lost first few generations.

  - if a woman died in childbirth then the other women would need to have more kids to make up the lost potential.

  Forget the 3 million, apparently just 200 years before there were only 80ish in Jacobs family when they made the trip down to Egypt. How they managed to grow from 80 to 3000,000 is the untold miracle of Exodus.

  so i've been reading the bible, (for the fist time ever and i was a born in) i stopped going iilike 3 years ago and i wanted to have a good understanding of the bible and not just the wt.

  but holy crap that's some 18rated stuff!

  i mean i'm still in genesis and it's all vengeance this, condemn that and genocide everything else!
