  Anyone in the Bible addressed God as "Jehovah"?

  Those poor ancient jews had no idea about evolution. they invented jehovah and their othter gods to explain what they did not understand. sure the priests were liars and scumbags, but dont lie about them.

  The Pharisees were Persian like religious group, their name Pharisee comes from persian. The problem was the Pharisees were evil for their religious fanaticism. AS we all know religion is a terrible disease to be sick with.

  Paul and the apostolic writers elaborate on Christian beliefs of the resurrection, of course, but to me the descriptions of the beliefs of the Essenes match the words of Jesus more closely than the other two principal belief systems.

  Paul is talking about the glory, death and resurrection of the Sun. The Sun is the light of the world, and gives us everything.

  Given that Origen's name includes Horus its quite evident from this and other stuff that xians were sun worshippers. Eusebius admits that xians also worship the sun just like pagans.

  Well the reason to trust Josephus is he was highly educated and as a gift from V got given the holy writings when the temple was destroyed. He had a passion for jewish history and hence wrote a lot about it. I am saying actually the opposite J is one of the best sources of Jewish tradition that we have. He wrote a lot and told us a lot of things. Rather than speculate we can accept the facts given to us by someone who was tehre.

  rutherford's eyes it was not distinctive enough from a marketing point of view, (having restructured "the business" after its severe contraction in the 20s due to his failed 'vision') so he came up with a name which featured the creator's distinctive name, "jehovah's witnesses" - a business strategy employed in those days by kellog and many others.. we now describe them as 'designer names'.. here are the scriptural proofs, but of course, they may count for nothing in some people's eyes because the "glorious ones" in brooklyn say differently!

  The word xian did not originally appear in the Bible. You can verify this yourself by reading the oldest complete bible at codexsinaticus.org

  Theres no Jesus in the OT, no Jehovah is the NT, no "christian" in the entire Bible, no monotheism in the OT and so on. In fact most of you think define xianity is not true at all.

  After 2000 years since JC was executed ,why have we heard not a whisper from GOD ALMIGHTY ?

  he/she had no problem talking to adam and eve ,though they were sinners in his/her sight .throughout the hebrew sriptures, ot, he /she had no problem communicating with fallen man ,imperfect humans , to dictate his will to his subjects by means of prophets , male and female ,according to the bible , the old testament ,the hebrew scriptures , god communicated not once ,not twice ,not even thrice ,but dozens of times during the first 4000 years of human history according to the bible.. why has this god been so silent these past 2000 years ,when their have been atrocities above the scale of anything that has ever been seen these past 6000 years of human existence .. oh you may say that the atrocities were not committed by god they were committed by man.

  fair enough .but god intervened in human affairs in such smaller infringements.

  with prophets or so the bible says.. the so called apostacy after the last of the apostles , the influence of satan in the world ,( or was that after 1914 ,) and the 2000 year gap when christ was supposed to return ,never mind about all the crap that went before it .. the fact remains we have never heard from god ,any god, or even" a " god, with either his/her approval or disapproval of events good or bad these past 2000 years... smiddy.

  YOu have not apologised for using the TF as proof of Jesus. If you knew it was tainted you should have avoided using it or at least make a statement afterwards saying there are serious problems with the text. Its not honest to use something that is potentially flawed like this without letting people know the whole picture. That is the very dfeinition of dishonest.

  This is where we would have to disagree. Many LDS doctors and bishops have witnessed miracles. My bishop helped cast out a devil that possessed a woman who was struggling so hard it took several men to restrain her.

  Joseph Smith was a fraud, his translation of the Egyptian Scroll supposedly holding some writings from Abraham is a joke and a fraud. Even his own people questioned how he could translate pages of text from a handful of glyphs in the scroll. The problem is years later some r eal scholars got hold of the same scroll and showed how it had nothing to do with Abraham but was a prayer to Horus.

  mP, the only thing I can say is that I have said what I have said and do not retreat from any part of it. Almost all scholars believe the Testimonium Flavianium is not a true renditon of what Josephus wrote, and I'm highly inclined to agree. Still, instead of being a complete interpolation, many scholars view it as altered, not fabricated. That's the whole idea behind the Arabic version, which sounds much more plausible.

  Im glad you highlighted it is a fraud. Your second sentence is not true, i think you will find that most scholars accept the entire passage as fraudulent. A simple test that we can all do is simply read the text before and after and it reads uninterrupted. The passage(TF) does not fit the flow of the narrative.

  i cant comment about the Arabic version, because i dont quite follow how that is different or important to the fact the TF should be thrown out. Like i said before Josephus wrote about a lot of people, many who got more words about them for doing far less insignificant things. If Jesus really existed and had lots of followers he should be present in his writings. How exactly does one explain why J is absent ? We can ignore the miracles and resurrection as im sure most realise they are completely untrue.

  I suppose that as I have put my oar in I ought to keep on rowing but to say that Paul makes no mention of Nazareth is no argument at all. Paul was a Pharisee from Tarsus whose whole ministry was based on the glorified Christ revealing himself on the road to Damascus, not on any knowledge of Jesus the man.

  Actually the truth is Paul never makes any mention of Jesus AT ALL as man. Jesus was a heavenly disconnected god figure for Paul, he most certainly was not a man who visited our world.
