i just saw the posting on the bible and abortion.
thou shalt not doubt whether a thing shall be or not be.
thou shalt not take the name of the lord in vain.
The only reason the Bible has some harsh things about abortion is that Israel was a small country between big empires.
A lot of their sexual policy was around this policy that required the maximum number of kids.
- ban homosexual men because they dont father kids.
- bible doesnt care about lesbians(lesbians are never mentioned), becaues the men will just rape them anyway.
- bible condones polygamy and taking virgins from neighbours because they will have good jewish kids.
- abortions are bad because again population growth is key.
- the king needs men for his army
- the rich need more peasents to work the fields and other labours.
Most of policies appear to have changed by Jesus time simply because Rome was simply too strong, the Jews could not raid thei rneighbours, nor did they ever have a chance against might Rome.
We can see the same policy of banning abortion and birth control in the Catholic church. Its simple to see they too are also concerned with population growth for the same sorts of reasons. More kids, more workers, more money for king and church. The church is just a franchise within the kingdom to direct thought and moral ideas for money.
there's a funny story that's circulated among engineering types about a young vp at arco.
he saw an inordinate amount of 'boiler operators' on the payroll and noticed that they made an inordinate amount of money.
he decided that he would save the company a bunch of money by out-sourcing the building maintenance.
The WTS needs a big stunt to surprise the world, like finding the ark or something, even if they have to fabricate one and come back later with cameras...
i was pondering the other day, why the watchtower corporation doesn't just sell off all the kingdom halls and hang the jws out to dry seeing they make far more $$$ from business than peddling the religion these days.. then it dawned on me... they need to keep that little sideline going for the tax breaks!.
slow learner i guess.. oz .
But they dont even witness anymore. You never see them at train stations and they visit areas once every five years that they would have covered every other month.
If yourmaking money you can afford to pay company tax, the rate isnt that high. Surely they woul dhave been better to pay tax on the mags an d charge than accept donations which arent guaranteed for every copy!

Why would anyone worry what the bible says about abortion when it condones slavery and the rape of virgins with redemption via payment of a dowry.

I was reading a book about King Arthur and his connections to history or particularly saviour god men. The 12 knights of the round table are of course the zodiac. Its always 12.
- Jason and the 12 argonauts
- Hercules and the 12 tasks
- Jesus and the 12 disciples
and on and on.

the latin fathers of the church has never described jesus carrying a "patibulum".
indeed, the early christians to represent jesus carrying the "crux", not the "patibulum".
it's a fact.
Why does it matter what JC was crucified on ? The Romans were in charge and they did what they wanted. Does the message of the NT change that dramatically if he was crucified on a cross or a stake ?
forget the us, the uk or the un they arent really opponents that will defeat the wts, the real dragon is the internet.
im surprised that the wts has not published this.
after the internet is 99% porno and other temptations and evils.
Some how i think the WTS itself thinks the next age was 2000 perhaps due to some creative rounding of the ages. Plus not all signs are equal with so its quite possible that Aquaris might have already under the sun at the Spring equinox. I would have to check that but i think i have heard it said somewhere.
when the uber-liberal, agnostic bart ehrman says it...it must be true.. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bart-d-ehrman/did-jesus-exist_b_1349544.html.
Sometimes i wonder from reading and hearing Barts speeches if he doesnt want to sound to extreme in saying jesus didnt exist. hes happy to repeat how many thousands of differences are between the same version of the same book and contradictions within the gospel stories. He also likes to say the books in the NT are all mostly greek because of puns and language that only works if it was greek.
