Teaching that:
- Jesus Christ isn't mediator for "Great Crowd", only for 144,000.
- 144,000 are the only ones going to heaven
- There is no hell
- There is no afterlife (exept for 144,000)
i was trying to think of one teaching or doctrine that has remained consistent from the society's inception to now, and couldn't.
.
can you give me one?.

Great work so far. Maybe we should make a JW dictionary.
Most cults create their own language that only insiders are privy to. Or have ordinary words that take on a different meaning inside the cult.
or did it not matter that you were ever a witness---you're a bit screwy, anyway?.
Let me see. Since I was a born-in, and never allowed to:
Then there's constant fear of:
I guess that could have some effect on how screwed up I am. But who knows for sure?
the governing body {karl klien} in the 1970's considered changing the generation to refer to those who saw "sputnik.
" this dumbass idea was not approved....however....2012?.
2012 new light = "this generation that knew the 1914 generation is.....the new "generation.
Evidently we can now say with confidence that "this generation" correctly refers to one thousand years starting from those born in 1900. The new light on "This generation" can be tied to Luke 17:26 "Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man." Likewise in our time the 1914 generation will also be one thousand years.
Brothers and sisers, as we know, a generation in Noah's day was nearly one thousand years, and therefore we should be thankful for this loving provision that allows multitues more to come to a knowledge of the truth, and enables us to reach every corner of the earth.
With this new light we can be in constant expectation of Armageddon until 2900, or until we receive newer light on this subject.
We trust this puts to rest generational questions many weaker ones have have.
It would be funny to put a message like this in an official looking Watchtower letter, and mail it to a few congregations.
yes, the may 15th watchtower is now available for download from jw.org.. the final study article, on page 26, directs another salvo at apostates - and warns witnesses not to try arguing with them on the internet:.
indeed, we ought to move as far away from wrongdoing as possible and not see how close we can get to it without being overcome by sin.
for instance, we need to guard against succumbing to apostasy, a sin that would make us unfit to glorify god.
Have you seen this anti-apostate commercial by the Governing Body?

i knew a few jw children who were beaten by their parents for various non-performance issues e.g.
not remembering scriptures, not giving talks .... did this happen to you?.
@TOTH
Sounds like you had it bad. The worst parent I remember was a single mother who beleived she was "Anointed". She had two boys, the eldest was my age. She was a mean woman. Her boys would get whipped for almost anything, but the worst beatings were for non-performance of a spiritual nature.
My dad wasn't "In the truth", but my mum was. I often remember getting pinched during meetings. Usually for not sitting still (for two hours). I'm sure if dad wasn't around I would have got it worse when we got home.
My fondest memories of the meetings, was when mum let me stay home with dad.

my mum gave a worldly ladies kids a "bible stories" book as a gift, the woman was pleased...2 weeks later the angry woman returned the book claiming it was too violent and upsetting for her kids.
even though i was brought up on that book, looking at it now with the drownings at the flood, jesus pinned to a post, a chapter with a picture of a guy on the ground with a nail thru his temple i have to say......it is too violent and upsetting for kids...just in pictures alone!
what do you think?.
You mean like this (skip to 2:50):
i'm interested to know common phrases jehovah's witnesses use, but don't actually apear in the bible (even the nwt).
especially phrases most jw's would assume are in the bible.
e.g.. "paradise earth".
I notice the scripture John 6:68 "Lord, whom shall we go away to?" is also twisted in various ways by the Watchtower to say "Where could we turn if we would leave God's organization"
