I mentioned the article to my wife
Me: "have you studied today's watchtower? There's an article that would be good for you"
Her: "What's the article about?"
Me: "It's about being a submissive wife in order to bring me back to the truth. It has an example of a sister who was hit by her husband and the watchtower suggested that she wasn't showing enought love to her husband."
Her: "That's rubbish, it wouldn't say that"
Me: "Here have a read right here"
Her: "That's total nonsense. I'd call the police if you ever did that"
Me: "But that's not the christian thing to do"
Her: "Neither is hitting your wife"
I think it made her think about things.

I thought about it, and now think if I did go and answer up (assuming they picked my answer), most of the R&F JWs would think "Wow brother biometrics is coming back to the truth.", and I can imagine them saying "It's really good to see you back at the meetings, and we really appreciate your watchtower comments today".
In short most the JWs simply wouldn't get it.

2011 Yearbook= BEARDS are still for non-Witnesses ONLY!!!! Beard Fear?
by Witness 007 in1960's the watchtower pictures showed jesus clean shaven and with short hair {watch 1954 p.511 "why do watchtower books now show jesus with short hair and no beard?
....because he is shown that way in representations that are older than the traditional effeminate looking pictures..."}.
yearbook 2011 p.57 "a bearded man named eric showed up at a congregation in the united states {oh god a bearded man!!!

Didn't Charles Taze Russell have a beard? And based on the custom at the time, Jesus would have had a beard ... nevermind, they were never Jehovah Witness.
What's also strange is I was told JW men didn't have beards because it wasn't the custom (in western civilization). So why are they picking on a new convert in Papa Nu-Guinea, where it is the custom for men to have a beard?

I think I'll go to the meeting this w/e and answer up:-
A loving christian wife may be able to sway her unbeleving mate by consitent good example. Even if this means she suffers years of physical abuse in an unloving environment. We can thank the slave for this timely advice. This is another example of how we are 'no part of this world' as worldy women would contact police and start divorce proceedings.

I wonder if jehovahs-witness.net will ever get a take-down notice from the Watchtower (considering the amount of JW material posted here)?

@jwfacts
It's about control, not about whether or not the said site is supportive of the Watchtower. Imagine that site had thousands of JW daily visitors, then the site's owner (for whatever reason) decided that he/she is no longer going to support Watchtower teachings. The owner could slip in a few "Apostate" teachings, that could damage the Watchtower's business interests.

If their works are truly 100% "Bible based" then they have no legal claim to copyright, as it's not a creative work, but based on effort. This is especially true for the New World Translation.
Also, the fact they don't name authors could also be used against them in any copyright case.
I suspect there is a huge element of creative license used in all Watchtower literature?
I think as the Watchtower moves more to online (e.g. reduced print, more downloads), their legal department will be seeking out sites for copyright infringement cases in an effort to reduce search engine competition, and eliminate apostate sites.
