And from it sprung a bunch of JW urban myths. Most memorable went something like "If the bomb was placed in the correct angle, everyone in the hall would have been killed".

JWs say it's my fault I didn't go to university ?!
by ekruks inlike many on here, as a jw trying hard to follow the direction of the gb, i listened to the advice to pioneer and trust in jehovah to provide (mat6.33) instead of going to university.
after struggling for ages in low-paid physically-demanding jobs, i decided to become a student (thanks for the encouragement on here guys!).
i tell a jw i wish i had been to university when i was a teenager, and put all that pioneer time into studying hard for a good grade, get a good job, and if i had wound up tired as i am now, at least i would have been paying into a mortgage on a home and pension.

The entire like JW culture is based upon adherents NOT thinking and obeying the FDS. So naturally when they discourage higher education followers obey. The culture is also about denying e.g. when they say "No one said you can't go to university" it's probably technically correct, but the reality is all cult members were directed not to go to university.

As others have quoted. Jesus said it best in Matthew 5;43-48:
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor [a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Isn't it wonderful how the Jehovah's Witnesses help their wealthy adherents (Sandy & Japan quake), then make videos to show off their "charity" work.

$3 Billion class action lawsuit on behalf of Jehovahs Witnesses children
by mind blown indecember 1, 2012. australia.
a $3 billion class action lawsuit is being launched in australia on behalf of up to 6,160 children within the church of jehovahs witnesses.
documents relating to the class action reveal over 14,000 serious criminal breaches of mandatory child protection laws, committed against these children by elders and ministers of religion within the church of jehovahs witnesses over the past 4 years.. the victorian government inquiry into the handling of child abuse by religions and other organisations is currently investigating the allegations, and is expected to hold a public hearing in relation to this in early 2013.. http://jwnewsnetwork.wordpress.com/2012/12/01/3-billion-jehovahs-witnesses-class-action-over-child-abuse/.

If the class action wins, it's Satan persecuting them.
If the Watchtower wins, it's a blessing from Jehovah.

Should We Worship Jesus?
by Perry inthere is one lord, one faith, one baptism.. jehovah and jesus are also both spoken of as savior.
this is true because even though there are two personalities, and jesus also possesses a human body, they both also share the same substance or essence of god.
this is similar to my son who shares 50% of my essence in dna.

Matthew 14:33 “Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God.”
Matthew 28:9 “And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, Rejoice! And they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.”
Matthew 28:17 “And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.”
John 9:38 “Then he said, ‘Lord, I believe!’ And he worshiped Him.”
Hebrews 1:6 “But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, “Let all the angels of God worship Him.”
The Greek word for worship that is used in all the above verses is proskuneo. Obviously, the NKJV chose to translate this word as worship. The New World Translation (NWT), however, chose to translate this word as obeisance (honor, respect) in all the above verses. What becomes interesting about the NWT, is that whenever the same Greek word, proskuneo, is used in relation to the Father, the translators translated it as worship, even though they rendered it differently in relation to Jesus. (This can be verified by looking in the Watchtower’s own Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures.) Is this a double standard? Is the NWT justified in translating this word 2 different ways; as obeisance to Jesus and as worship to the Father?

Why would anyone think the 7 times of Daniel 4 should have two fulfillments?
by jwfacts ineach prophecy in daniel had only one fulfilment.
why believe inconsistently that daniel 4:9-32 should have two fulfillments?.
daniel 2: an immense image representing kingdoms.

Phizzy, I noticed that Ethos made the ridiculous claim that 1914 can be arrived at without the use of Daniel 4, but does not seem to have backed up that statement.
Only other way I've seen to arrive at 1914 was using pyramidology by Charles Taze Russell - who said:
"So, then, if we measure backward down the "First Ascending Passage" to its junction with the "Entrance Passage," we shall have a fixed date to mark upon the downward passage. This measure is 1542 inches, and indicates the year BC 1542, as the date at that point. Then measuring down the "Entrance Passage" from that point, to find the distance to the entrance of the "Pit," representing the great trouble and destruction with which this age is to close, when evil will be overthrown from power, we find it to be 3457 inches, symbolizing 3457 years from the above date, BC 1542. This calculation shows AD. 1915 as marking the beginning of the period of trouble; for 1542 years BC plus 1915 years AD. equals 3457 years. Thus the Pyramid witnesses that the close of 1914 will be the beginning of the time of trouble such as was not since there was a nation -- no, nor ever shall be afterward . And thus it will be noted that this "Witness" fully corroborates the' Bible testimony on this subject..." (Charles Taze Russell, Thy Kingdom Come, Studies In The Scriptures, vol. 3, 1910 edition).

Can a JWs Elder be "removed" if his wife is known as the congregation "gossip"?
by booker-t ini remember in my kingdom hall one of our 5 elders bro.
"smith" had a gossipy wife sis "smith" who would be known to gossip from the time she enter the hall until she left.
i don't know how she never was reproved or counseled for her gossiping.

For the most part, the only thing that differs is the degree of gossiping.
Sure there may be exceptional cases where the wife doesn't gossip, but they are just that, exceptional cases.
