Subject: I Run On Rechargable Batteries
This was read by Bro. Sxxxxxxgen, Circuit Overseer -- March 2004
I RUN ON RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
Sunday I was tired,
"I sure could use a charge!"
I drug myself to the meeting
And felt better, by and large
Tuesday I felt wimpy
"Just wish I could plug in!"
By the time the study was over,
My face wore a grin.
Thursday came and found me grumpy
"I've had a stressful day!"
We ate dinner and got dressed
And attended anyway.
Whenever it may happen
Whenever I hem and haw
I always come home feeling better
When I go to the Kingdom Hall!
I run on rechargeable batteries
And this world drains them dry.
But when they're recharged at the meeting
I feel like I can fly!
Stress may zap my energy
And emotions fray and frazzle
But after charging up at meetings,
I feel a spark and dazzle!
When I feel I can't continue
And my lights are growing dim
Just take me to the meeting
Don't forget to plug me in!
Jolt me with Jehovah's spirit
Through parts and association
I know I'll be filled up to the brim
Plugged in to the congregation!
Though alone I am a weak battery,
I can be recharged
And through these repeated bursts of power
My "up time" is enlarged!
put yourself back in a dub's kids shoes and make up your own young people ask titles.. here's mine:.

Is all religion really a "snare and a racket"?

jehovah's witnesses challenge police .
by barbara r. bodengraven / [email protected]
I used to witness in the Topsfield area...this is an affluent town just north of Boston...car group always stopped at the police station before we went to the neighborhoods...never any issue at all...never stopped once on the streets...if this is "caesar's law" and it' s reasonable, what's the big deal about telling the police that you will be driving in the area? no one in that area ever came into the congo from the door to door work in all the years I was there...people rarely even answered their doors...like most other places...is this just the WTS trying to stir up the pot so they can again play the "persecution" card? Like the R&F JW's can deal with a cop when he approaches them...most can't at all...

Potato Chips
A little boy wanted to meet God.
He knew it was a long trip to where God
lived, so he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato
chips and a six-pack of root beer
and started his journey.
When he had gone about three blocks,
he met an old woman. She was sitting in
the park, just staring at some pigeons.
The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase.
He was about to take a drink from
his root beer when he noticed that the old lady
looked hungry, so he offered her some chips.
She gratefully accepted it and smiled at him.
Her smile was so pretty that the
boy wanted to see it again, so he
offered her a root beer. Again,
she smiled at him. The boy was
delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating
and smiling, but they never said a word.
As twilight approached, the boy realized
how tired he was and he got up
to leave; but before he had gone
more than a few steps, he turned
around, ran back to the old woman, and gave
her a hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever.
When the boy opened the door to his
own house a short time later, his
mother was surprised by the look
of joy on his face. She asked him,
"What did you do today that made you so
happy?" He replied, "I had lunch
with God." But before his mother could
respond, he added, "You know what?
She's go the most beautiful
smile I've ever seen!"
Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant
with joy, returned to her home.
Her son was stunned by the look
of peace on her face and he asked,
"Mother, what did you do today
that made you so happy?" She replied,
"I ate potato chips in the park with God."
However, before her son responded,
she added, "You know, he's much
younger than I expected. "
Too often we underestimate the power
of a touch, a smile, a kind word,
a listening ear, an honest compliment,
or the smallest act of caring, all
of which have the potential to turn a
life around. People come into
our lives for a reason, a season, or
a lifetime. Embrace all equally!
Have lunch with God........bring chips.
what would your question be?
QFR:
Because there are so many dysfunctional elders and ms, is the holy spirit REALLY involved in selecting them?
Why does the Society allow rogue CO's to wreck people's lives?
If love is such an important quality, why are there no boxes on the monthly report slip to incliude.."random acts of loving kindness" (even if no one else sees them?)?
Is the door to door work really ineffective?
Who really owns the KH?
Do JW's really care about "Caesar's laws" (or do they adhere to them only when it's convenient)?
Why is the Memorial ritual so legalistic? Why isn' the love shown by Jesus the focus of the occasion?
many, many others...
jesus said, "you will all know my followers by they're works".
in a recent thread that i made, which lie hurt you the most, most posters presented they're arguments, and pretty much all of them said that the "lack of love" was horrendous.
why don't you write out your lack of love stories so that the lurkers can visit and see what this destructive high-control-group (aka, cult) does to the emotional health of sheep who are sick and weak.
In 1997, a book study was held in my home. I conducted. About 18 people were assigned including an assistant conductor, an elder. My wife's sister (a non JW) was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Being that she lived in a very rural area in NY and had limited funds and no health care insurance, we had her move in with us so we could care for her and take her to see oncologists hospitals (Mass General) in the city (Boston). She was in and out of the hospital undergoing chemo and radiation treatment for several months. When not in the hospital, she lived with us. being somewhat immobile, we got a hospital bed and set it up in my den on the first floor. A visiting nurse would come to the home several days to assist my wife and I in her care.
Any help from the FRIENDS....nada..nothing...no !!!
Oh, but we did get one thing...the other elder in the book study approached me once after a meeting and said that " some of the friends were uncomfortable at going to a book study in my home with this sick person there...(sick person...how about terminally ill; visited now by hospice).
The "sick person" was in another room and in no way any bother to any of the friends...as she was on morphine and mostly asleep.
So, I decided to get the other elders and immediately told them to stop the book study at my home and move it to some other location...asap...I suggested the other elders house (he was Pissed off) as he made the suggestion!!!
What a loving, caring group !!!! Jesus said you would know his disciples by the love they showed...
In my experience, like with all people, there are some really loving and caring ones and most of the rest will never have a clue...Love...if it's not self serving or convenient is a commodity largely lacking in the JW congreagtion.
I faded...after 15 years of "service"
which one teaching really hurt you when you found out that it was not true?
my number one thing is finding out that the name "jehovah" was not in the bible like it was in the new world translation (tm).
christians did not call god "jehover" "jehovah" or by his first name, no more than you would call your father by his first name when you were a child.
For me...it was initially two things...one...the absolute gall of the WTS to make doctrinal changes without in any way explaining thier previous position while blaming "some" who believed what the previously taught for years..(eg generation change)...two...conditional love...what a crock...and used so neatly by many when they feel like it...
I was never really tied up too much in this BS...but it did affect me somewhat...so glad to be out
just thought this was worth passing along...comments from young children...so simple yet so profound...best wishes to all.... what love is.

WHAT LOVE IS
A group of professional people posed this question to
a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"
The answers they got were broader and deeper than
anyone could have imagined.

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a
contest he was
asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to
find the most caring child.
The winner was a four-year-old child whose next-door
neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently
lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy
went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his
lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked him
what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,
"Nothing, I just helped him cry."
how many rotten governing body members gave horrendous talks and got a standing ovation?
how many of them just walked on stage to an automatic round of applause?
...notice the words from the 1951 watchtower on page 392----"a mild yet subtle form of idolatry that must be guarded against is the practice some make of applauding excessively when their favorite speaker or some prominent individual among the lord's people addresses an assembly.the mere stepping og this individual upon the platform sometimes brings a round of applause.
I often wondered about that. Sometimes at CA's and DC's they would even announce the 'credentials" of the speaker (ie...Bro so and so...37 years in the FT work)...talk about giving undue attention to someone...anyway one of the contentions with birthdays is that JW's do not want to place too much undue attention on an individual...so, for this and some other WT reasoning, no birthdays are celebrated...seems to me there was always far more attention placed on these speakers (their position, "spiritual standing" and talks then could ever be given to a 5 year old at his party
