The way I see it, the greatest evil in this world isn't actually doing something evil. It's sitting back, watching evil being done, and choosing to ignore it. Worse, knowing it's happening and actively covering it up. So WT and all JWs who prefer to bury your heads up your butts when it comes to baby rapers in your ranks, YOU ARE EVIL.

"back in the day people didn't know not to abuse kids"- a jw explanation for their abuse scandal
by purrpurr ina few weeks back i showed the guardian article about the borg refusing to cooperate with the charity commission into child abuse to a fellow jw.
their response was quite amazing.
they told me that in the 50s-80s people didn't know about child abuse, didn't know it was wrong and no one really believed children when they claimed they had been abused - even worldly people.. they said that alot of the time children lie about being abused or therapists plant false memories in their heads and that apostates lie about being abused to undermine our faith.. about the borg not cooperating with the commission they said that it was probably because they wanted to protect the identities of jw's who had been abused.

Happiness and Freedom On A Paradise Earth?
by Disassociated Lady 2 inat a recent meeting there was a watchtower article about life in paradise.
they were saying that even when witnesses finally get there they will still be under the strict instructions from the elders and gb.
they may be given jobs that they will find unpleasant, also the preaching work will be ongoing because of all the resurrected people who need to learn about why they are given another chance.

Eternal life in a never ending slave labor camp or death at Armageddon and an end to it all? Hmmmm. I think I'll opt for dying at Armageddon.

My congregation outgrew its KH. We built a new one and the old one was sold to a small church. Used to make me laugh, seeing a big old cross on the building's front.

People hate God?
by looter init is a pain that certain individuals pride themselves on hating god, who created everything.
like it's understandable that you choose to not believe in him because of your selfishness or thinking skills but to hate him is forcing it a bit.
i'm very thankful that those such as myself have the courage to believe in the lord.

looter, do some research. You're only 18 so I guess I can cut you some slack for that. I remember being 18 and realizing that the JWs were not The Truth. That started me down a path searching for the 'true religion'. Only to realize that there is NO 'true religion'. As I've said before, when you REALLY look you start seeing the holes in every single religion. Believe if you like. If after careful consideration you still believe, great. But don't preach at the rest of us.

looter, its the condescending and superior attitude of believers like yourself that bring out this atheist's fangs and claws. I consider myself a live and let live person. You want to believe, good for you. Don't ram it down my throat. I had enough of that when I was a kid. I don't want to listen to a pious holier-than-thou sermon any more than you want to listen to a speech about atheism.
Second, you know absolutely nothing about what brought me to being an atheist. I certainly didn't set out to become one (not realizing I was one all along even while I was trying to force myself to believe). It was reading the Bible that brought home to me that it didn't make sense. When you look, REALLY look, its all nonsense. Why does a supposedly all-knowing, all-powerful supernatural being need me to worship and adore him/her/it? That's one massive, insecure ego! It's like me expecting an ant to worship adore me. Makes no sense.
I don't hate God any more than I hate other imaginary beings such as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy. It's simply something I grew out of thinking I needed.

Whoa, wait a minute. Did I read this right? This creepy POS was sentenced to ten years in prison for raping his stepdaughter but only served one? ONE?! That's the first travesty in this sorry story. One year is not enough for harming a child. A lifetime wouldn't be enough. The second travesty is that Ivery is going door to door and being allowed to come in contact with both JW and non JW kids.

Hi Inabunker. The blood issue was one of the first things I really thought about and rebelled over. I used to go to the annual meeting where we'd be issued new blood cards, get mine signed and witnessed, then rip it up. It's such a crazy teaching. Even the GB realize how crazy it is and have been trying weasel a way around it without dropping it openly: 'blood fractions' for example. Where do they think 'blood fractions' come from hmmmm?

Schadenfreude
by Coded Logic inman who claims god punishes gays with floods has his home destroyed in flood of ‘biblical proportions’.
family research council president and former louisiana state legislator tony perkins had to escape his flooded baton rouge home via canoe, the christian post reported on wednesday, citing his recent comments on his radio program, “washington watch.”.
“[i have seen] nothing like this, and i have been involved in disaster relief, especially here in louisiana, working and coordinating relief efforts through several hurricanes,” the christian post quoted mr. perkins as saying.

Explaining JW Beleifs To Non JW's
by pale.emperor inmy new girlfriend asked me over dinner last night what jw's believe.
as i sat there explaining it i realized how ridiculous it sounds and was slightly embarrassed that i used to believe this crap for 31 years.. try and read this and imagine hearing it for the first time.... me: well... jw believe that god's name is jehovah and that his son is jesus christ.
they believe that jesus died on a stake and not a cross and that in the year 1914 he personally chosen the jw's as his one true religion.

pale emperor- I can just imagine the look on your girlfriend's face while you were telling her all that. I've seen that look many times on Mr. Wayward's face over the years. He thought I was joking when I told him about the ban on Smurfs. Then he started laughing so hard I thought he was going to run our car off the road.
