Jehovah's Witnesses Challenge and Critique
i've been reading and posting over at the jehovah's witnesses challenge & critique section of the mega-religion site beliefnet.
the moderator (a jw) is starting to get her undies in a bundle over some of the posts!
i think it would be cool if some others from here would go over there and rattle the cage a little.

always loved your posts, puffy
I think its incredible that some posters got mad that they couldn't drag us down (or off) with them. Screw them. You have the right idea. Go with that and be happy!

on august 29, 2001, i stumbled upon a web site like no other i have ever found in cyberspace, and i have been hooked ever since.
the purpose of this thread is to say thank you to everybody for your help, advice, and support, for putting up w/ my craziness, and entertaining my fluff w/ your replies.
when i first posted here, with that 'relatives and relationships' thread, i was overwhelmed by the responses i got from people who really cared and wanted to help me.
Rock on butalbee!
for decades i heard people say "if i was an elder,i would change this or i wouldn't allow that.brothers and sisters alike would always try to get the ear of an elder so as to enact a particular cause.everybody has their own pet peeves in a congregation.
knowing what you know now, if as an elder you could make a major change in the congregation or organization, what difference would you make?.....this is hypothetical so it can be answered by male or female.
I would do just what Littletoe did!
If you haven't read his story or heard the audio from his farewell talk to his congregation, it is definately worth your time! Click here.
into the borg?.
i fortunately was never able to have a bible study grow all the way to the point of baptism.
but for those of you who did, do you feel guilty about bringing another person into what i think of as a cult?
I was only good at selling Watchtowers and books. I never got anyone in either. Now I'm trying to make up for all that crap I peddled.
i don't have any but i am going to tell on my lady boss, who is a 26 yr old lawyer of the hoity toity breed who was incidently born with golden slippers.
this morning as i walked into the ladies room we passed each other as she was on her way out.
we smiled and said hi, then next thing i see her pass her hand under a drip from the tap...and then hastily wipe her hand on the towel before rushing out.
My dirtiest habit is "God's Gift of Beauty" from that Stephanus post.
we've been having a bit of fun with our speculations about what ruth is really like, from clues drawn from the watchtower she (or someone) left in a train.
i had a look at the watchtower itself and have been rather amused by its overall cheesiness.
or to quote groucho marx:.
TALK ABOUT MALLHAIR? And wouldn't she get counseled by the elders for all that Jezebel makeup? Oh wait! Plastic identity = plastic face! I get it.
P.S. Where's Johnny?
I think he's in the bathroom. He took "God's Gift of Beauty" with him, I think.

I really didn't have any specific threads in mind. I just think it would be cool if more people from here make a presence on the Jehovah's Witnesses Challenge & Critique board. The moderator issued a general thread stating that she doesn't like some of the things being said even though the conversations have been quite mild. She is new and I think a bit naive. Beliefnet is a huge mega-traffic site that I think Is good exposure to the world about these issues.
Thanks everyone for taking a look!
P.S. Simon, you wouldn't happen to be simon712 over there, would you? -prof

Beck,
The moderator is illyria .
That comment about thinking that the dubs are working for God not the WT was not sarcasm. She actually thinks that!
Stephanus,
Just hit reload and it should be there. You weren't the first person to ask. Happy now I&P (if you're still lurking), and Heaven?
