the doctrine of sin = death.. .
if it is the case that the reason people die is due to the original sin of the man adam (romans 5:12) then why do animals also get sick and die of the same illnesses as humans?
did an animal transgress in a similar manner?.

his name was herbert, that's all i knew about him and that he was one of jehovah's witnesses.
the knock came at 6 in the morning and i was wearing very little.
i looked out the peek hole in my door to see a single middle aged man sporting a big stupid grin standing outside my front door.
"Are there more doves than rabbits in the Bible?"...
Hysterical!
i use usualusername as i am not creative enough to think of anything sexier.... .
what significance is there behind your profile name?.

Mine is a reference to being a 3D graphics artist.
So hard to watch
the wts ban on the transfusion of whole blood or primary components is established on a number of "principles" which when taken in their entirety give rise to the doctrine.. one important one is the refusal to distinguish between the consumption of blood by eating .
and the consumption of blood by surgically implanting it (transfusion).
we've all heard the "alcohol" analogy.
Injecting blood and eating it are 2 very different things...when blood is injected into a vein it does the same job as the blood it is replacing..it stays in the veins and bloodstream and does not go to the stomach to be digested, which it would need to do in order for it to be considered "eaten".
We certainly can't literally "abstain" from blood..it's running through our veins...does that mean we are "eating" our own blood over and over again? Makes no logical sense. The Bible was referring to literally eating and digesting blood..blood was never meant to be digested..it belongs in our veins only. ..but to say it is a sin to have a transfusion is presumptuous...putting words into God's mouth as usual when it comes to JW's.
Just my opinion.
i had an account on here sometime ago but forgot the login, but i often read the site.. a long-term friend of mine, a jw, asked me to go to his grandmothers jw funeral a few weeks ago.. i was hesitant obviously.
i haven't been to a kh in over 5 years.. i am not df/da.
i decided to quit in 2007 following my failed marriage to a jw.. the person who died was a very well-respected jw pioneer.
I was raised a JW but left the religion when I moved out of my parent's house at age 19. I have 2 sisters who are devout JWs.
My beautiful 13 year old son passed away in July 2011. He was very close to my sister. I raise my kids Christian but do not believe in any man made organized religions and had no intentions of having a religious service for my son, but my sister begged me to let an old friend of ours, who is an elder, say a few words at his wake, as it would give her some comfort. I agreed because I grew up with the guy and also he had gotten me a job at a company he worked for and was my boss for 5 years..cool guy, not too religious, I knew he wouldn't preach but would read a few scriptures and talk about my boy. That's all I wanted. Well, this elder/friend couldn't make it so my sister decided to ask another elder in her hall to speak...without my knowlege...someone I didn't know at all! When I found out, I wasn't really thinking clearly as I was overcome with grief for my son, but I DID tell her that if he does speak to keep it not too religious or preachy as none of my friends or my son's friends who would be attending are JWs. Simple request, right?
Well, the brother called me the day before the wake and asked me questions about my son that he could use in the talk. I told him all about how amazing my son is and what he loved to do, etc. This brother's talk lasted waaaay longer than the 10-15 minutes he was supposed to speak, he mentioned my son's name only TWICE and only read maybe 3 descriptions of what I told him about my son personally! The rest was like a bible study...and a bunch of witnesses that my sister asked to come to the wake actually brought Bibles with them! During this elder's talk there was bible page shuffling the whole time! Who does that???? My husband was livid as he barely tolerates my sister's preaching.
Needless to say it made a horrible day 10 times worse. Right after his talk my friend got up to speak and described in great detail how my son loved Halloween and my husband created a HUGE walk through graveyard in out yard for him every year..lol..
Since the wake my sister's JW friends keep coming over to my house to witness to me. Yes, I am searching for comfort and have turned to God and the Bible to find comfort, but no matter how many times I ask my sis to back off and stop sending people to my house, she is convinced that I am in need of the congregation to get me through my grief. She even tells me the only chance I have of seeing my son again is if I get baptized as a JW and turn to the organization.
Sorry for the long read...just still a sore spot with me.

this is a question i always wondered about and never got an answer to.. its also another reason why i'm finding it harder to believe in an 'afterlife'.. th idea that humans can live forever, now seems so scientificly impossible.. so i wanted to ask all the great minds on here,.
if someone's spouse dies, and then they remarry, then armageddon comes and goes then the deceased is resurrected,.
how,is that ever gonna work?
Hi Morbidzbaby..thanks for the welcome. Good points!

This is a question I have been asking a lot too. In 1Cor 15 there is a long explanation about what the resurrected body will be, but it's still confusing! In that chapter in verse 49 it says "And just as we have borne the image of the one made of dust, we shall bear ALSO the image of the heavenly one" I think humans will be a mix of our physical bodies, but transformed like the transformed physical body Jesus had after he was resurrected and appeared before his disciples before going to Heaven. Jesus was the only example of a human resurrected to perfection, so maybe we will be like that.
If you think about Adam and Eve...Eve was created as a companion for Adam..they were both perfect beings in the garden and there was no mention at all of them doing the dirty in Eden. It wasn't until they sinned and were tossed out of Eden that the mention of Eve lusting after Adam and bearing his kids was mentioned...maybe those resurrected just wont have the same physical sexual desires for their former spouses? We can speculate any scenario really...we just can't know what is in store for us until it happens I guess.
