  i am definitely a generalist, i have a bit of interest in 1000 things.

  this is one of the reasons i have always been so unhappy, because i have attempted to force myself to be a specialist.

  it just doesn't work.

  I am not wrong about your inclinations. If you had the curiosity of a generalist you would at least inquire about why I asked about your physical dimensions.

  You are comfort centered- NOT information centered.

  Your demands to be loved and appreciated are unrealistic. It is nice to be loved and appreciated but life is tough.

  Whether we are generalists, specialists, creative, plodding, enchanting, ... we are trapped AS our selves. Our best attributes are sold to the highest bidder - our worst traits have to be tolerated and perhaps managed.

  What's wrong with vegetating. We're talking about the core of our evolution. I use the term vegetate with the functions of the gut, vicera or as some 1800's physicians called it the "vegetative system".

  You are probably a feeling/seeing person. Which means you want comfort and you continue to search your envrionment.

  You're an endomorph - face it - love it.

  Look at the words you use:

  You like smorgasbords. You want to "fill" your life. You "hunger" for new information.

  Reading = Passive - vegetative end of spectrum

  New Ideas= Contemplation= Passive

  Art= Observation= Passive

  You are passive not active. Do you play any sport regurlarly. Probably you enjoy swimming/floating.

  I am not being critical. Just some observations. People are different in these very basic ways. They are gut dominated, muscle dominated, nervous dominated or sensory dominated - all are different styles of approaching the world.

  No one knows more about this than I do. Pardon the brag. Someday I will write a book about it.

  People are not just thinkers and doers. People are 1.feelers (love types), 2.thinkers (justice types), 3.doers (power types) and 4.seers (wisdom types).

  Actually if you take all the permutaions of those four dimensions you have 24 types.

  I am a see-er/feeler/thinker/doer

  See-ers are generalists. Thinkers are specialists. Feelers - well they primarily feel but are more generalist than specialist. Doers are specialists because to do some- "thing" you have to be able to focus on what you are doing.

  Joel you are definitely a feeler type. You have the ability to focus but prefer to vegetate and find tasks to be an intrusion.

  Everyone can be classified into what they want and how they get what they want. AND what they avoid and how they avoid it.

  This is a theory I came up with 20 years ago.

  what movies have you seen go so hand in hand with the wt to the point where you can use its storyline to explain to somebody what it is like being a jw.

  i used the movie "the island" with scarlett johnassen to explain it to a workmate.

  she completely understood what it is like being a jw it after i made the comparison.

  Hybridous:

  Religious movements often have charismatic visonaries at their core. No doubt Jesus was of that type. They can really spin. They are the entrepreneurs in the relgious realm. Before they know it their brand of "preachin" catches on. They usually don't arrange for a smooth transition after their exit because they really believe they will be able to pull strings after they pass on to the next world. Jesus did a pretty good job because he was a Jew and they know how to set up a propsperous enterprise.

  If King starts to get funds he will be on his way. Kind of like Armstrong and the World Wide Church of God. There have been a lot of these guys.

  I agree somewhat with Cygnus. Right now JW's are in a kind of holding pattern - they don't want to think too deeply. But King could pick up quite a following in 2014 if he's still pushing his stuff. There will be a lot of people looking for something right about then.

  When we were on the AOL message board there was a woman who was pretty well versed in the Church Fathers.

  I can't remember her screen name. Do you remember it. Do you know what happened to some of those people.

  There were some real scholars on there. (Apokrisis/Greg). Caraban?

  I remember sitting at a convention at Yankee Stadium 1953. This short man in a floppy suit walked out to the speakers platform carrying a large brief case in one hand and a large camera in the other. While he sat in the middle of the field waiting his turn to talk he was taking flash pictures of the audience. Weird!

  Has anyone ever seen the Franz eye-view photos he took? They must be around somewhere.

  Like many in this forum I engaged the Persona "You Know" on many occasions back on H20.
  
  We all could see his current situation emerging. He is proposing himself as the New Watchtowerist. It is commendable that he has made his neo-interpretations available completely free. In his video announcement he suggests you alert others to his web-site with a modest suggestion that you may actually purchase his book. You have to wonder what his response would be if you made available a copy of his book in its entirety on numerous competing web-sites.
  
  There IS value to efforts such as Robert King's.
  
  First of all he is not of a scholarly temperament like Greg Stafford. He is more like Charles Russell and therefore speaks to peoples intuition - NOT their intellect. Intellect does not attract much of a following. Robert has the ability to sweep up people the same way he scoops up concepts from many sources. Conspiracy theories, social theories, economic theories, Watchtower theories, even ideas gleaned from discussion boards such as this all find a home within King's vision. Because he is not a Scholar (Stafford) and not a Complainer (Bowen) he gives us a glimpse at the embryonic stage of an organization like the one Russell started (and Jim Jones).
  
  Second, he attacks the Watchtower prophetic interpretations which is their claim to fame. He attacks them on their premises. He is not simply saying "you predicted X and then X didn't happen. He shows why X had no foundation in the first place. Usually when you confront a prophet with their failed prophecy they simply shift ground by saying "not yet". "It will happen as we have said we're just a little off in the timing." or "it was fulfilled on a different (spiritual level)" Since King's objective is to replace Watchtower Prophecy he has to make sure that he can completely discredit their interpretation.
  
  Unfortunately, King shows how the Watchtower prophecy was based on a mistake and then he substitutes their erroneous interpretation with an erroneous interpretation of his own. People assume that because he skillfully uncovered the errors of the Watchtower that his replacement is automatically correct. Sadly, King, like many intuitives, believes his own stuff and is not open to criticism.
