How do I tell my Mum something worse than 'I don't believe it's the Truth'?

having the short "it's not the truth" conversation with my mum was painful enough and the after-effects are horrible.

a sort of 'tactful' wall went up between the two of us - i hate it.

i can sense that my mum gently shepherds my kid brother (18) towards his sisters ('elders wives') rather than have him spend time with me.

17 years of marriage destroyed by the Watchtower.

I did manage to get my wife out of the borg, but the damage to our marriage was already done. After a couple of years there was nothing left to save.

Luckily I have no other relatives in the Troof.

hi everyone.... i was "raised" as a dub and got baptised in '86...so in total i had been a jw for over 20 years.

i came to realize that the "way of life" i was living was in fact made up of mostly lies.

i started "questioning" the borg about 6 years ago and finally came out with almostatheist last sept. i know in my heart that they are mostly wrong and very legalist.

I quit smoking about a year ago. Even though I know it is bad for my health and it is a stinky nasty habit, I still want one every once in a while. I can't help but think about what it would be like to smoke one again. The same thing happens when you quit the Watchtower.

It's the commercial with Hootie, the lead singer from Hootie and the blowfish, dressed up as a cowboy singing about the bacon cheddar ranch sandwich on some dream-like ranch complete with Dallas Cowboy chearleaders and playboy models swinging buckets of ranch dressing while they lick it off of their fingers.

4 ezra 7:36; 2 baruch 59:10, 85:13; mark 9:43, 45, 47), and gehenna itself derives from the aramaic name for the valley of hinnom, gehinnam, the valley to the southeast of jerusalem.

as an eschatological term, gehenna is constantly associated with fires that bring punishment to the wicked.
