Blackboo,
Now that you've moved on to questions about evolution, does this mean that we've answered your who created the person that created god question to your satisfaction?

the fool has said in his heart there is no "god" how can this?
why do non-believers jump to such a conclusion?
i have notice many former witnesses have lost faith in god because of a a "religion" who didnt measure up to what it claims.

for those of you who aren't familiar with lee strobel, he is the author of christian popular apologetic books.
his releases include the case for faith, the case for christ, and, most recently, the case for the real jesus.
a journalist with a legal background, his case books contain interviews with scholars and experts who give scholarly defenses of the christian positions to which the books are devoted.
hmike,
Interesting post.
The one thing I noticed that I felt was rather unusual was that Mr. Strobel claims to have been an Atheist first and then became a Christian after his research. This sequence of events is the exact opposite of my experience and nearly every other Atheist I have ever spoken with.
I was raised a Christian, accepting all of the basic beliefs with little question. Like many others I was a Christian purely on an emotional level. It wasn’t until I was forced to research the Bible and Christianity that I became an Atheist.
If there are any other Atheist on the forum that did not arrive at their position in a similar manner, I would be very surprised.

Blackboo,
First of all, welcome to the forum.
Next of all, it is kind of hard to follow your logic on the reason you think we should answer the question of "If God was created who created the person who created God?"
The simple answer is we “non-believers/atheist” see it the exact same way as you do. The idea that someone had to created someone that created someone that created God is ridiculous.
The idea that the universe came into existence without a creator is just as logically valid as a creator coming into existence without a creator.
So the argument that universe required a creator is flawed.

having believed the whole bible, hook, line and sinker all these years i get the impression many of you have come to the conclusion that we should take it with a pinch of salt and not hold to it so dogmatically.
and some possibly believe in it just as much as you did when you were a witness.
to save me some time please, lovely people, as i am very lazy - could you share with me why you do or don't believe in it - what evidence there is either way and if there are any particular books that you found helpful in coming to your conclusions?
nvr,
LOL, I started to do that but was to lazy to finish it.

brother jed came to my college campus today.
he and his partner told us all that we were going to hell for drinking and doing drugs.
i don't get the guy, does he really think that he is going to save anyone telling them that they are going to hell with out even knowing what they do, there was one guy there who is an atheist, but the greatest part was that brother jed even made the christians on campus mad, they felt they we being misrepresented by him, so they made signs that said we are christians and we love everyone!
so what jw doctrines do you still agree with?
how about the trinity?
do you believe in hell?
No Hell
No Trinity
No Immortal soul
Of course, I also don't believe the following:
No God
Bible is not the word of God
etc....
I may be a little conflicted because I believe that the Bible does contain some foundation for the following beliefs:
Literal Hell, although there are other conflicting threads of thought
Trinity, although not explicitly developed
Immortal Soul, although not consistently found through out the Bible

i'm so confused..my daughter has two teenage children, they are a girl just turned 16 and a boy 17... when i was at her house watching tv with them..they made the kids cover their eyes when sex scenes came on.
now she just told me they both seperately went with friends to see the last "saw" movie.... since when is sawing someone up ok to watch but not sex?.
snoozy..a confused grandma...who isn't aloud to voice her opinion....
steve2,
When more homosexual couples start having and raising children at the same volume as heterosexuals, maybe this trend will change.
Just kidding.
Well maybe a little serious though.

How many here feel comfortable setting with their teenage (or younger) children and watching a rather explicit sex scene.
Saying that you would rather have your children watch sex over violence may sound fine, but in reality it's not quite that simple.
Most normal children realize that it is absolutely wrong to commit an act of violence against another person. Watching a violent movie is seen as nothing more than entertainment, no sane person would actually consider such acts. On the other hand, we can almost guarantee that every normal teenager is going to eventually have sex. Allowing them to watch it in our presence could be confused as giving our approval to try it themselves.
I could not comfortably set and watch sex scenes with my children when they were younger. I usually changed the channel, fast-forwarded, etc. I doubt that I would be comfortable with it now that they are in their twenties. I have however set and watched many a horror movie with them without giving it a second thought.

...not.
