I have had a few conversations with my sister who left the org several years ago and has been dating a non JW for several years now. She celebrates the holidays and everything. So the other day I brought up some of the things I have learned since leaving. She discussed them with my former elder dad who found the information my sister and I discussed (in the WT pubs of course) and apparently the governing body being the fds has been the teaching all along and this was just a MINOR clarification and makes complete sense to them!!! My sister sees no hypocrisy or issue with the flip flop on blood and people dying because of the arbitrary rules of 8 men and we r all well established in the medical field!! I was shocked that she was so venomous toward me over religion. I mentioned how divisive it is and the shunning and she agrees with it (probably because she was never caught to be disfellowshipped). So now I am leaving it alone. The cultish ways are sooooo ingrained. I feel sick... Sorry it's one ramble bit my iPad won't make paragraphs.

Hot of the Press!!! YEARBOOK 2013 :Letter from the Governing Body
by raymond frantz inyearbook 2013 :letter from the governing body.
dear brothers and sisters :our heavenly father, jehovah, is the personification of love.hence the bible states :"god is love".
(1 john 4:8) even though jehovah is almighty ,his word never says ,"god is power" or , "god is might".he bases his rule primarily on love.how this attracts us to him!.

My only comment about this pathetic letter is that i am so glad i am not counted in any of those numbers.

Same for me. I have my 2 closest friends from my kh days that have left or are trying to leave also and we are pretty tight. The rest act as though I have a flesh eating infection lol...fine by me :) I find it so interesting how being inactive equates to the shunning now.

Another rumor about changes in Watchtower and Awake
by wannaexit init's only a rumor.
but we all know that sometimes rumors become a reality.. supposedly the public watchtower and awake magazines will be combined together and the two shall become one.. i wonder if the present 16 page "rags" are becoming an embarrassment.
they truly are rags of the lowest quality..

Even if they do consolidate the 2 i cant see them abandoning the trademark Watchtower title. unless of course they want to trick the public into reading them. Watchtower is well known so a new name with the same crap might throw a few off guard long enough to read one.

Are you still on a self improvement quest?
by Monsieur inon another thread i asked about this life being all there is.
if so, what would you consider important to have done or accomplished before you die so that 'your time alive' would not have been a total waste?.
if you haven't done it, or accomplished it, are you currently on a quest to do so?

I think i will always be on a path of self improvement. i still have many goals but am confident i will reach them. I dont have guilt and fear holding me back. I have more inner peace now than i did in the first 39 years of my life.
jgnat- I LOVE your painting!!!!! You are very talented :)

I placed my first set of magazines here
by irondork insanger, california, usa.
during the summer of 1972. i was five years old.
i actually remember the neighborhood, the lady at the door - the entire historic event with reasonable clarity.

i dont remember my first talk. i was 4. i think it was out of the pink great teacher book. thats what my mom told me. and could not tell you when i place my first magazines. my best friend and i were going to the doors by ourselves at 7...sooo...not much recollection.
i do think that all of those talks and presentations did me a world of good in a practical sense. i can speak coherently to virtually anyone in english and spanish. no fear of public speaking.

Rumor of new light on the headquarters of the WT
by wolfman85 ini read in a forum in spanish that there is a strong rumor spreading in the corridors of the wt.
has anyone heard anything about this??
the change that is emerging is this: the great crowd has not yet appeared, and it is a group that comes out of the great tribulation.

if i think about it i think that is basically what they teach now.sort of. the only reason anyone claims to be of the great crowd is because we were all assured with out any hesitation and without any doubt that armageddon was RIGHT around the corner so of course we were all of the great crowd. But if someone died now they became just one of the othere sheep. the only reason people feel they are of the great crowd is because they think (as i used to) that they are never going to die and live on into the new world.

Ever Caution a Former RV about JWs?
by rubadubdub inhas anyone ever felt a strong desire to go back to one of their former "return visits" in order to warn them about ttatt?
i used to call on the sweetest gentleman who was truly hurt as a child by the catholic church and its doctrines.
last we spoke he was still so fearful about being damned to hell.

This is exactly what i want to do. i have thought about the ones i would go to. i am positive all my rv's were picked up by others since i supported the car groups virtually every day with my calls.
there was one particular woman that freaked out any time she saw witnesses on her street. i want to go to her door. apologize. then tell her to put up no trespassing signs and tell everyone she knows to do so (that cong takes the signs seriously).
i so want to warn them all to just say NO!!!

"now let's pay more than the usual attention to (insert name of any and all part or talk)" since we were obviously deficient in our listening skills at every single meeting.

i watched the episode with my daughter and while there were things that were right on track, iot didnt have the feel of a jw family. regarding the dog tags...my dad wears his and my grandmother had them. it was so if there blood card was MIA they would be covered. my daughter had the reaction i wanted to hear...that she doesnt see how god would want someone to die over that.
