Have you abandoned the hope of everlasting life?
by Fisherman indo you still believe or nurture in your heart "living forever in a paradise earth" and even never having to die in "this old system"?
or do you now belive in life after death as a spirit being in heaven?
or have you abandoned the hope of everlasting life?

Not at all.
Destination has changed tho
Definitely changed my outlook/perspective on life today. No longer view it as a passing phase to "just get through." It's a gift to be used. How long it lasts is a variable we have no control over.
I'm no longer in dread of "will I/wont I make it.
I'm a sinner, can't earn God's favour, I recognise, acknowledge and receive His grace and feel liberated as a result.

It finally happened!
by Bstndance inbrief history: my mom found that i have a myspace (forbidden sin) and that i was a member of this group (bigger forbidden sin) so she stopped talking to me for 3 weeks.
today she finally calls all crying and said she spoke with the elders and they feel she should stop talking to me.
i told her i'm very happy she's crying because she knows she's making the wrong decision.

Presumably she knew you were gay but she still spoke to you.
But JWD and a MySpace account was a step too far!

by startingover ini recently had a conversation with a jw friend about the thing at the service meeting this week about blood.
i explained i don't understand how they can even be offering these fractions as a choice because of the stored blood situation.

Dont argue the rights and wrongs of their teaching, only it's inconsistency and it's lack of logic.
Ask:
Is it a "matter of conscience" to give blood? NO
Is it a "matter of conscience" to store your own blood for transfusion? NO
Is it a "matter of conscience" to give blood for the removal of fractions? NO
Is it a "matter of conscience" to accept blood fractions obtained by the above methods? YES

praying to Jesus - an analogy
by TheListener infor those who are christians,.
as a witness i never prayed to jesus and would have felt icky and evil had i done so.. .
as a christian who is no longer a jw i still haven't prayed to jesus.

I can see where you are both coming from.
If you feel happier talking to Jesus than praying to Jesus then do that.
In Christian circles this next statement is a bit of a cliche, but it's been said that Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship.
And I've never known a relationship that didn't involve talking.

We've just put ours up today.
My kids are so happy. We don't have a hint of guilt.
Brilliant "sermon" at church this morning about the real meaning of Christmas and how it's different for everyone.
As for feeling pagan. . . lost all significance like the days of the week or months of the year.
Have a good one everyone. . . whatever significance you put on it.

Astonishing Publisher Peak in Britain for August 2006
by slimboyfat inwell i just got the new kingdom ministry for december and it has the publisher peak for august: 129,482!.
that is quite an amazing total when you compare it to the trend of recent years:.
2006 - 129,482. i wish i could produce a graph, but you get the picture - there has been a dramatic increase in the publisher peak number this year compared with the recent downward trend after the 1995 "generation" change and subsequent stagnation.

My point is that a "Peak Publisher" figure is not the same as "The maximum number of individual publishers in a Month"
It is "the maximum number of report slips turned in in one month"

Out of interest, what is the average publisher figure for the UK?
