  3 a.m. - my wife is in tears! What do I do?

  well my situation has developed a bit, any advice appreciated.. their has been a gradual building up of pressure ever since i stood down as an elder about 6 months ago.. i have been telling my wife about my doubts but have continued to attend "some" meetings.. as time has progressed i have become more open with my criticism of the org.. i mentioned the un scandal, molestation trials, false prophecy ect etc.. interestingly she does not deny these facts and yet still wants to continue as a jw.. i told her that god is not happy with people knowingly being part of a false prophet (deut 18 - etc) - starting to lay the groundwork for my exit.. she appreciates the difficult situation doubters are in - they cannot openly express their feelings for fear of jcs.. anyway, a few weeks ago we moved house which meant changing congregation.. but i felt it would be best if i did not attend meetings " at all" at the new cong so my fade could be easier.. but i could not have predicted my wifes response - when i told her it was an explosion of emotion, i mean real heartbreaker stuff.. she seems depressed at the prospect, perhaps the reality is finally hitting home.. last night, about 3a.m.

  i noticed that she was not in bed.

  i went downstairs and she was sobbing away to herself.. "i can't go to that hall myself!

  So back to 3 a.m. - My wife says this - "At this point I just want to pack it all in, I cant bare going on my own. It is easier not to attend".

  What a great idea!

  A thought worth nurturing . . .

  I'm sure that a couple of months of that and a new routine of a nice lay in (don't know if you have kids!) on a Sunday morning and then Sunday lunch out or at home, followed by a nice walk etc etc and the thought of going back doesn't seem so attractive - especially if your life remains/becomes full of purpose.

  How Many Here Are Born Again Christians Now?

  just wondering how many ex -jw's have become born again christians and whether or not this happened while you were still in the wt organization?

  also, what is your experience now with god and christ?

  ** please non-believers, lets not use this thread to bash christianity again, or do the whole is there god/not god discussion all over again.

  reasons.. 1. china has a horrible human rights record.. 2. they are evaporating the us economy.. stop buying.

  So it's ok to buy from other way smaller countries with appalling human rights records and dreadful sweatshop arrangements as long as they don't evaporate the US economy . . .

  It's called an open market. Maybe all US companies should set the lead by refusing to have any goods manufactured there then you wouldn't have to buy them . . .

  I agree with you on the "Big Four" - obviously the Scousers should be excluded just for being . . . well, Scousers!
  I'm sure it'd be a different picture if you included the 70's and 80's.

  I remember in a melancholic moment in the late 80's, sharing a pint with a fellow JW after another pitiful season from Utd, asking in all seriousness if he thought Utd would actually win another title before Armageddon came LOL!

  So you reckon a 2 team league with Rangers and Celtic is actually 100% better than the Prem!??

  Anyway back to the Skype . . . (is this the first case of someone hijacking their own thread!)
  I'll look into it. We'll start with standard quality.

  Then we'll be able to see you're LA sun tans! I've warned her that if she's got an American accent within a fortnight,to expect some serious piss taking . . .

  Only prob we seem to have is that our laptop isn't dual core (tho we're due for a replacement)

  Well I was just chatting to Sweetpea (well via Facebook - so very disjointed with an 8hr time difference) about something like this. I even said in my last message (which she's probably not read yet) that you'd probably be able to come up with some suggestions considering what you do!

  So how do me and Mrs Pubsinger get this? In computer language of less than 1 sylable LOL!!

  Your team were bloody lucky today! But did very well in the UEFA cup the other night . . . Did Sweetpea tell you me and Will went to see Huddersfield Town on Saturday (free tickets thankfully!) it was . . . er bloody awful LOL! We'll stick to Man Utd thanks . . .
