That is THE best response I have heard in nearly 20 years since I left!
i'm inactive here to the local jw's as i have faded.
i've been slandered and all that, shunned by some but not all, but the elders basically leave me alone.
i still run into to people all over though.

recently quit being a jw because i realised that beyond armageddon i was going to be ruled by people who cover up child abuse, not telling the congregations by their letter where the money they donated in the box is going towards paying compensation for legal battles which they caused, and also i was bullied by elders and discriminated against for being homosexual, even though i am not practicing it.
it wasn't until i threatened legal action for a breach of confidence that the elders were deleted.
so through the media and my own personal experience, i realised that they were no different to corrupt businesses in the world.
Yep UK too.
Out 18 years. Living a pretty normal life 😊
If you want some 'normal' 21st Century 'friendship' add me on Facebook. Simon Endeacott.
PM me with your real name so I'll know who you are.
Always happy to chat 👍
i'm honestly in awe about this particular scripture (and honestly i can't keep thanking jwfacts enough for providing biblical contradictions to the jw doctrine!).
"john said to him: "teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.
" but jesus said: "do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; for he that is not against us is for us.
Moderate, progressive JWs? Have always known that there are people that serve and please God in every org?
Except when someone who was a JW leaves and attaches themselves to 'another org' and 'still' believes in God and carries on serving. Then they all stop being 'moderate and progressive' and start saying 'APOSTATE!'
i was looking around from some information on the wt's stance concerning the use of stem cells, and i came across this article on a defending jehovah's witnesses blog.. rather than informing the reader all that much about stem cells, the author diverts the conversation into a discussion of "blood fractions" (*note: the term "blood fractions" appears to be another one of those wt bloodspeak terms coined by the wt.
"blood components" or "blood products" are the terms used more frequently by the medical world.
"fractions" implies tiny amounts).
Ask a JW if it's ok to be a blood donor? No blood fractions can be obtained without blood donation. If blood donation 'breaks God's law' then no fractions can be allowable.
The stealing a car and selling its parts analogy is totally correct. It can never be a matter of conscience.

WT Apology
How do we view it when ones in positions of congregational authority fall short and do not meet the high standards Jehovah sets? Sadly this does happen from time to time but we must remember that Jehovah is merciful and forgiving. If you have suffered at the hands of a member of the congregation, even if it was an elder, what is the Christian way to act? Jesus said we should forgive our brother 77 times. Are we willing to do that? Or must we, like this world which is controlled by Satan, demand 'justice'? Let us show a forgiving spirit and not bring reproach on Jehovah's name. By doing this we will store up treasures in heaven.
i have just been looking at jw news about the ban of jws.
they are complaining about how unfair the judicial process was.
ironic.
Ha ha terrific!
I did that 'verbally' to two elders who came round 18 years ago.
I said:
'Just leave me and my family alone. But let me be totally clear that I am NOT disassociating myself and I am NOT going to do so. And if I hear that you have made ANY kind of announcement about me....'
The Presiding Overseer interrupted me and finished my sentence and said ".... you will 'take action'....."
I just said "yes".
Never heard from them again.
it turns out arsenal were soundly beaten 3-0 yesterday by crystal palace.
apparently, the score-line flattered arsenal, not palace.. arsenal have conceded 3 goals in each of their last 3 away games and lost those games.
a few weeks ago, they lost 10-2 over two legs to bayern munich.
As a Man Utd fan I'd 8-2 be an Arsenal fan.
i'm rather gobsmacked to hear that an elder in my ex congregation has been appointed a prison chaplain (in the uk).
the reason for my disbelief, is that, this particular prison is for "schedule 1" offenders - covering sex crimes, child abuse/paedophilia and even downloading child pornography.
the reason for my reaction is that he has at least 9 "disciples" who have a bible study but i cannot help but think that when they are released, they will be part of a congregation, where they will have access to children and vulnerable people?
Is he official 'Prison Chaplain' or just has access to the inmates as a member of the 'clergy'?
this week all congregations in australia have been instructed to make the following announcement:.
if a member of the congregation would like a copy of the child safeguarding policy of jehovah’s witnesses in australia, please see the coordinator of the body of elders or the secretary.. .
childsafeguardingpolicy-eau.pdf.
In fairness, I don't think you will find any other church or organisation who will announce their policies to their congregation on a Sunday morning and then have it read out to them. However what you WILL see are church councils/trustees sitting down behind the scenes ensuring that everything is up to date, and people from above at diocese level asking to see the documentation. That is PROPER administration and oversight.
And then of course there would be a Child Protection Officer/Governor in each congregation whose responsibility it was to make sure that the policy was turned into practice.
WT just want ARC off their backs so they can get back under the radar.
this can only be a good sign.. my old congregation in liverpool has had a lot of money in it's bank account for years.
for a long, long time (almost 8 years) they've been looking for land to build a new hall.
the one they're in now is literally falling to bits.
Ha brilliant! Hope that wakes a few up and their money stays firmly in their pockets from now on.
