I went to see Delirious? who are a Christian rock/indie band last week and they were awesome, contemporary, entertaining and "worshipful" all at the same time.

this is addressed to the jw lurkers.....according to my brother, who is a devout jw, no "good" witness would be found on this site....but since he's a jw, we'll assume he's naive....... dear jehovah's witness:.

my family, whom i love, is comprised of jehovah's witnesses.

i was never baptised, as anything, but attended meetings for years, until i turned eighteen.

Thats an amazing story because almost exactly the same thing happened at the last meeting I attended.

The WT study conductor asked a sweeping question to summarise the study. Something like "Why should we apply the things we have learned today in our lives?"

The answer he was looking for was along the lines of "Because if we do it will make us better people, Christians etc..."

After a short pause a little girl (his own 8yr old daughter) raise her hand and said "BECAUSE IF WE DONT WE WILL ALL DIE AT ARMAGGEDDON"

And you guessed it...

The whole congregation BURST OUT LAUGHING.

I felt a cold shiver go down my back. My own beautiful daughter was just under 2 at the time and just reaching the stage where if we whispered a simple one word answer in her ear she could raise her hand and parrot it.

I thought to myself "If I can get out now she will never remember ever being in this place"

We have never been back since.

Tonites bookstudy

it took everything i had to stay seated thru the bookstudy tonite, i felt like getting up and leaving.

the fact that i'm the designated reader did'nt make matters any better either.

i'm not sure how many people on the forum have the isaiah's prophecy book but if you do have a copy check out chapter 21.. chapter 21 in paragraphs 3 talks about how enemies of the israelites (pharoah, nebuchadnezzar)were compelled to acknowledge that jehovah was with his people.

ironically, we were discussing the watchman who stays awake night and day.. anyway, something was said that made me awaken and pay careful attention.

please, if anyone else who got this same information at their book study, please share it.. here goes:.

there was a picture of a man standing on the watchtower keeping on the look out.

This "who else is doing the preaching work" thing is ridiculous.

What they really mean is "who else is preaching the SAME MESSAGE as JWs?"

That is as daft as any other denomination asking "Who else believes and carries on EXACTLY the same as our administration? . . . oh NOBODY. . . so we are the only ones then!"

Lots of individuals and organisations are preaching and teaching and educating.
