Wrong bloke.
Ezekiel. 3 years or so laying on one side staring at a brick.
Then wheels within wheels and loads of strange creatures.
LSD.
what more confusing and off the wall book in the bible, can there be, then the book of revelation.
it has all sort of odd things being talked about, all sorts of weird events that seem to only be connected when you twist the mind to the maximum of your imagination.
so many people, in religions, have tried to explain this off the wall book and yet refuse to face the fact that it might just be complete imagination of nonsense.

just a thought.... looking through the greatest man book, something just occurred to me which i can't recall has ever been highlighted (but please correct me).. i always thought it a bit strange that jehovah allowed the three pagan astrologers to find jesus especially as they were obviously guided to him by satan's star (remember they were led to herod first who wanted to kill the messiah).
what purpose did it serve?.
well, a few pages earlier in tgm book, we see mary presenting a dove as a sin offering at the temple - this was the cheapest offering that was acceptable which must have meant that they were pretty poor at the time.. shortly after the three wise men visited the family had to flee to egypt when herod started to kill all the young boys in an attempt to kill jesus.. what would they need to travel and live as exiles for a couple of years?.
I read a really interesting answer to this question a few years ago.
When Daniel was captive in Babylon he was made head over all the wise men by Nebuchadnezzer because he alone could interpret the dream about the image of various metals
The assumption is that as Prefect over the "wise men" Daniel actually taught them his beliefs and told them about some of the Jewish Messianic prophecies.
One of these was regarding the "Star"
So the astrologers, who were also astonomers, were aware of the prophecy concerning the appearance of the Messiah.
They said that they had seen the star and come to "Worship the King"
So the "wise men" were not pagan astrologers. They were believers. Descendants of Daniels contemporaries. Living in a foreign land.
I don't have the details to hand but I'll did them out and post them when I do.
They are found in a book by Arnold Fruchenbaum.
They make very interesting reading.
when you saw the wt for what it was and realized it was not the truth, how did that affect your thoughts on subjects like homosexuality or abortion for example.. did you start to think differently suddenly or did it take a long time ?.................or maybe you havent changed your minds on what the wt condemns.. i was quite shocked at how i accepted my teenage son was sexually active and i talked to him about condoms and this being an important thing in his and gfs life and where they sure they were ready.
i didnt tell him not to do it !.
actually i think i always had my thoughts on different subjects that werent in line with the org, i just pushed what i really thought to the back of my mind.. there are many different subjects name one that you relate to.. .
I dont think gays should have abortions.
of europe and usa... but no gabriel...no hackett...no new material...no suppers ready...and no scotland.

I'm ecstatic.
Not
i just read another topic about cos and it got me thinking .
almost every single co's wife was sick and terribly unhappy.
i remember listening to them complain about not having a home, not having children, the accomodations of the friends, etc.
Once took the CO's wife on my RVs
It was winter and she was wearing a fake (i assume/hope) fur hat.
While on one of my "coffee calls" there was a knock on the door. In walks the drunk brother of my call. He was in his early fifties and was a nice guy, but it was close to Chrismas and he'd finished early and gone for a drink.
We all pretended not to notice and I introduced the CO's wife.
He looked her straight in the eye and said "heeelllooo Jeeeannn. Pleeeassed to meeet yooooussh. Why have yooouu gottt a deeead SSSqqquirrelll on yooour hheeead!!"
i know it has been talked about before, but does anyone have information as to when jw started banning beards.
my wife is telling me that it started in the 60/70's because of the hippies, but i know i read somewhere on here that it was much earlier.. .
I remember a guy who'd had this tidy beard for years. He'd been an elder but had stepped down many years previously because of his wife's health problems.
He was still viewed in good standing. He then began to "reach out" again and became a MS.
He was hgiven a part on the circuit assembly. The CO somewhat reluctantly brought up the beard thing. After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing the guy decides to shave it off (he looked "naked" after all those years!)
On the morning of the assembly, the guy who'd been made chairman for the assembly programme (much younger but from the same congregation) decides completely on a whim, to grow a tidy beard for his assembly part! In the rush getting the assembly started nobody notices!
The CO's face when he realises and the brother who'd shaved mood was highly entertaining
The guy who'd grown the beard was totally bewildered. He said he'd modelled his beard on the other guys who'd shaved cos it was so distinguished!!!!!
