59 couples in 30 mins.
I'll stop now I've got more useful things to do!!
do you believe that divorce rates among jw's is higher or lower than the averages now?.
in the us - at least recently - it was said that about 50% of all marriages will end in divorce.. for decades as a jw - i believed that jw's were immune from this statistic.
among the older married couples divorce seemed almost unheard of - and still, among the older crowd, that holds true i believe.

I can name about 7 or 8 couples who have split
Are you thinking very hard
I did this exercise about 5 years ago and I had 60 (Yes Sixty) couples who'd split.
Get your pens and paper out and try it.
It's a real eye opener.
it's only three minutes or so, let me know what you think.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctu6zjasupa.
thanks,.

Final few seconds show the conditioned JW mindset.
According to the speaker.
Getting Educated = Not Trusting in Jehovah
Astounding reasoning
But we all accepted that once
when i came to the realisation that my whole religious upbringing was in question and i was led to this site, i immediately wanted to get involved - i could see that there was a lot of caring, spiritual people here that had created an amazing community and i wanted to be a part of that community (to release some pent up feelings and to maybe help others in some way) but having read that many of you guys lurked for months and in some cases years before you finally posted - i'm intrigued as to why?????
was it selfishness - couldn't bring yourself to commit and be a part of the community, you were just content to observe?
was it laziness?
Hi Besty
I've always had a considered approach to most things.
I don't think it's particularly selfish to lurk - just different personalities.
Not all of us chuck all our JW books after 3 days and then want them back

hi guys and gals,.
this is probably a really dumb question, but are there others out there who measure time and distance when they travel - anywhere?
i understand the occasional setting of the travel odometer to check your auto's mileage.
It's only OCD if you have to post it three times.

I do it to find the most efficient route for regular trips.
Have you ever noticed that your mind plays tricks on you?
For example:
How many people take a particular route when travelling TO a certain destination but always RETURN a different way because it's "quicker"?
I check the mileage for both routes. Take into account the time both take (obviously the shortest isn't always the quickest).
Then I ALWAYS use the same route even though my mind plays tricks and tries to tell me the other route is quicker.
I only do this once though so it's not OCD
