  Lack of young people in the congregation?

  been baptized for two years but being in the truth for longer.

  one thing i have always noticed is the lack of young people in the congregation.

  does anyone feel the same ?.

  im currently reading a book called jehovah's witnesses: portrait of a contemporary religious movement (https://www.amazon.co.uk/jehovahs-witnesses-portrait-contemporary-religious/dp/0415266106).the researcher is a social scientist, was never a jw, who studied with the witnesses solely to write this book.

  his research has been quite thorough and objective which is commendable.he mentioned in the book how rutherford didn't want his colporters (pioneers) giving their own sermons or bible interpretation, but instead he had them going door to door with his records.

  (i have some converted to mp3, they're very boring).

  i started thinking about how the bible describes ‘god’s people’, the israelites.

  most of the time god was very pissed off at them.

Just imagine! We must do something! So speak up!” This chapter in Judges exemplifies how low minded they were, just dismembering women after sending them out to be raped by a bunch of Benjamites, and having no qualms to sleep that night knowing what you had done to your mistress .   Are JWs capable of a genuine discussion?

  i was just pondering whether jws are capable of having a calm, in depth discussion about religious or faith topics?.

  i have just finished listening to a great podcast by "dogma debate" (dan) episode 333. this fantastic, in-depth conversation between a theist and an atheist was a masterful example of how a dignified conversation can take place without it resorting to abruptness or even nastiness.. jws on the other hand seem incapable of having such discussion without ending up in the following ways:.

  1)they get dogmatic and defensive if a differing view is presented.. 2)if the conversation doesn't go their way, they cut it short saying something like "well, we had better agree to disagree" or the like.. so why the arrogance?

  I recall a well spread lie told at conventions and assemblies maybe 30 years ago, about someone arguing with a member of clergy or say a minister, and after a few studies, lo and behold they became brothers, and the audience chuckled and laughed with smugness. I hated that. Guess that,s where the term boasting session came from.

  that highly emotive headline is just to have a wack at bible believers.

  but the world around is showing so many signs of change, that it's certainly looking like something new is here.. for example, driverless cars and buses are now possible.

  Maybe the WTS should charter some of these and fill them with up to date carts that can only hold 3 magazines. They would have a captive audience, and put a few video screens playing "just around the corner" as it goes around the corner...

  i have been meeting with member's of the kingdom hall, and i have attended a few times now on sundays.

  i'd like to discuss experiences with this group since i'm new.

  Apparently Jehovah`s Witnesses have no scruples about " LYING" to their GOD Jehovah

  i thought it was bad enough that jw`s put in weekly reports of fs hours every month in the d2d work when in fact the average publisher would never mention this "good news of the kingdom" to the householder .. more often than not it would be something like some mundane thing about what they have observed about the householders property whether they have kids ,what a lovely garden they have before being cut off by the householder with i`m not interested knowing jw`s are trying to convert them/sell them the watchtower and closing the door.. yet the jw goes away happily putting in a report telling jehovah they have spent so much time in the fs witnessing about him and the kingdom of christ jesus...... cart witnessing is even a worse lie ,why ?

  because jw`s make no attempt to witness to anybody they expect people to come to them to be witnessed to which of course never happens .

  they spend hours upon hours a month telling jehovah by their fs reports they hand in how much they have witnessed for him ,when in fact they have done nothing of the sort .. they chit chat among themselves witnessing to nobody for hours on end and then lie in their fs report they have been witnessing for jehovah ?.

  I think over 100 years of bothering people has finally caught up with them and no one hardly is listening to their 19th century way of thinking anymore.   Judges ch 21:11-12 12,000 well equipped soldiers went to "smite every male and woman that had lain by Man, and they found 400 virgins to bring to 'Shiloh'. How do soldiers determine a woman is a virgin? look? smell them? test them? This story is so funny, Im spraying this screen with tea , ha ha.
