Thanks! The pdf is great. Just curious why the kindle version was taken down. Formatting issues makes sense, that's a shame. Hope to see it back up at some point. I like seeing it widely available on platforms like Amazon.

I was sent a list of joke pick up lines from someone years ago when I was still "in." They are pretty awful, I'm sure they would make many JWs cringe too!
I do not take credit for these, haha! Here are just a few, please forgive me :
- I lost my songbook, can I share yours?
- Do you know a public place where we could get to know each
other better? (my personal favorite)
- Oh you look cold! (Ecc. 4:11)
- I am here for you to incite love and fine works.- Hi there, will you be my Shulamite?
- Excuse me, I believe one of your ribs belongs to me.
- Your congregation or mine?
- ...So...do you belong to this circuit? Want to?
- We need to be fruitful...and become many. -

Why do so many think JW Religion is a Cult? (NO APOSTATES PLEASE)
by Brother Mike inmy question is, why do so many think the watchtower bible tract society is a cult?
.

I'm late to this thread but if this is a sincere question, there is a great article on the Huffington Post called "When Organized Religion becomes a cult." At the beginning of the article it states, "The distinction between cult and religion lies squarely in how those leaving or those wanting to leave are treated." I think that is your reason right there. If it walks like a duck...
Interestingly enough, a few days before the article on JW.ORG regarding whether they are a cult or not was posted, the Huffington Post tweeted the link for the article that I mentioned above. Could have been a coincidence, but who knows?

Does anyone know when Anthony Morris III started partaking?
by gbrn ini suppose that it is a long shot, but i was curious if anyone knew the answer to this question.
i had heard that morris became a jw in the 1970s and that he also had children who were raised witnesses.
it seems odd that someone that new "in the truth" would partake, and with children mind you.

What does the forum think? This especially being the case with the 1935 cutoff date in place at this time. I had also read somewhere that he was an assistant to the GB before becoming GB himself.
Is it possible he has been partaking since his baptism, or did an older GB member recognize him to be GB material and quietly encourage him that he may have that particular "calling?" I remember a relative that I have who is still in headquarters, telling me years ago that sometimes older anointed members (GB), will sometimes (rarely) put the idea in someones head (someone in a higher up leadership position) that they may indeed have the heavenly hope. Not telling them it's a fact of course, but putting the idea there. Of course, I don't know if this is true, but it seems believable that this would happen in order to keep the GB running smoothly.
I would love to read everyone else's thoughts on the matter.
Thanks!

I'm with Kool Jo on this, Atlantis has been instrumental in my own personal journey. Words can't express how thankful I am. I do hope that there is some way that those of us still interested can continue to receive these documents. Although it was only for a brief time, it was nice to receive these through email. Hopefully something can be worked out. I eagerly anticipate any developments. PM if I can help in any way.

Thanks so much for all of your work. It helped to wake me up. As far as the new website, I'm curious like the rest. I tried to download what appeared to be the December KM, but it says it's "expired." Anyone else have that problem?

I read the book and absolutely loved it. I experienced many similar things, as I'm sure many others have. Thanks for writing the book. I love the cover - it captures the older graphic design style. I really enjoyed the podcasts you were on too. Thanks for putting your story out there James. I hope the book does well!

I just spent the last couple evenings reading James Zimmerman's book "Deliverance at Hand!" and I really enjoyed and related to it. I heard him a few weeks ago on The Thinking Atheist podcast and have been looking forward to the book since. Very down to earth, and shocking how similar my experience was to his. His wife's struggles near the end of the book particularly hit home with me. Anyways, it's an excellent read and I would recommend it highly to anyone who has left or is in the process of leaving. (The cover art/design is awesome by the way!)
