  i went to get in my car the other day.

  before i could start moving engine a jw pulled his car in behind mine then got out and walked up to my window.

  he then said "you must be brother <biometrics>", i said "i'm <biometrics>" then looked at him as if to say "who are you?".

  Tell him you don't talk to strangers. And how strange it is that someone you don't know shows up at your residence without invitation, knowing who you are, and expects you to talk to him. He can just get over himself.

  Alteration in the German Watchtower about spousal physical abuse

  i noticed that the german edition of the study watchtower for today didn't include the phrase about the husband "hitting" the sister.

  instead it just says that he became ferociously angry, which need not imply physical abuse.

  i wonder if the german translator altered it off his own back or was instructed, and how other language editions compare.

  Thanks blondie for the info. Does anyone have a rough translation of a watchtower in another language when an American issue talks about not sparing the rod. Not sure what the latest issue on that would be in, but just curious. I wonder if they even talk about spanking or just replace the article entirely with, oh lets say, sewing or baking a cake.

  60% of americans in one servey think the government did it.....even though there is no sold evidence.

  let me spell it out.....a huge airplane full of fuel hit the building plowing thru the steel supports, thousands of witnesses, and video fotage, it almost flew through the building with debris blowing out the other side.

  although it appears in the footage there is alot of smoke but no fire, right?

  To take a line from a great movie, " If our own government was responsible for the deaths of almost a hundred thousand people... would you really want to know?" You're on a ex-jw forum, most of us awoke suddenly to the realization that the religion was just a farce, a lie told to us our whole lives. A society we put our trust in, our lives on the line for. Why would it be so difficult to accept the fact that if one controlling faction lied that another could do the same and cover it up?

  New strategy - Armageddon survival training - have the WBTS missed a trick?

  ok so the thread from lits on the armageddon to go bag got me thinking that the wtbs have missed a trick here.. why not teach all jws first aid and simple survival techniques ready for armageddon and as a side benefit they become disaster savy helpers, basically trained good samaritans?

  could this be a future strategic sideline for the wbts?.

  biblical precedent (aka wbts precedent): they have taught for many years that proof the bible is inspired of god in some small part is due to survival techniques used by the israelites in the desert (hygiene etc).

  Too many lawsuits on their hands probably when a dub goes to apply those "trained" skills on someone. Licenses would have to be paid for and distributed and we know how much the society doesn't even want to take responsibility for any of its followers' actions.

  does anyone know what the rumor in the congregations are about this topic?

  i'm sure alot of them are just taken back by fellow witnesses taking the society to court, bringing reproach on god's name.

  Thanks for the info everyone. I was curious on all counts what the rumor mill was churning and what the insiders' opinions were. I read most of the documents you posted JV. The plaintiffs do consider the GB to still be high and mighty and unfallible while believing that men under them were the con artists.

  So if apostates are mentally diseased, sounds like a flaw in the design. How can God blame our actions from an epidemic? Even the society can't just flat out say that we made these choices on our own, lmao.

  Did a bit of research. Looks like he was an officer for 20 years and decided to retire. Too bad the brothers didn't get some other detective involved that was younger and wanting some action. Maybe he would have stayed around to stir some things up.
