i noticed that anthony morris iii just said on the broadcast: "while we cannot control everything that an individual might say, it is clear that over the decades protecting children from abuse is a top priority for this organization.".

Just a few observation from inside a KH

My husband was attendant one meeting (he is neither a min servant nor elder) and a family came in a little late, they don't come very often because the husband travels a lot for work. Anyway, one of her little boys (about 3) was acting up a bit and making a lot of noise. My husband felt bad telling the mom to take her child outside so in all innocence he offered to take her little boy into the foyer to let him run around a bit, and the mother in all innocence smiled and said yes sure. My husband was out there barely a second when another bother attending (min servant) went in there and told my husband it’s not a good idea, so my husband came back in and handed the child (who had stopped crying in the meantime) back to its mother. Neither of us thought anything of it until later, when it dawned on us that this is possibly because of the pedophilia issue. The brother was trying to protect my husband from possible accusation, and protect the child from possible molestation (by my husband, lol). Another instance was when a few years ago a sister wanted her eldest teenage son to study with one of her friends (pioneer elder) as she thought it was better than with his dad, the pioneer elder respectfully declined and said it was hers or her husband’s responsibility. I didn’t think anything much of it either, just thought things have evidently changed since I had friends who used to study (years ago) with others apart from their family members. Then it dawned on me this was again a protection for that boy, and for the pioneer elder, giving no room for accusation (by anybody). Evidently the org. is putting strict practical measures into place to prevent any child from being molested. I spoke a little about it with one elder friend and he confirmed that elders and ministerial servants are being trained to observe (as in they themselves) and make others follow a certain code of conduct when it comes to children and minors. I would say that the environment is being made extremely difficult for any pedophile to “thrive” in a congregation these days.

It isn’t about a good life in the truth and bad life out of it. There are many faithful JWs who are poor, get cancer, suffer tragedies etc. And there are many who leave who go on to have a wonderful life.

It’s about choices. Regardless of what you all say, everyone has a choice. JWs choose to live their life with a regard for God and with what they believe are God’s requirements. Whether you want to call that being enslaved to a cult, that’s your prerogative, and your opinion, but JWs certainly don’t view it that way. We all (JW or X- JW) have the freedom to choose how we want to live our life.

You don't appear objective to me. Would you defend Catholic Priests this same way?

I sure would! However you are comparing apples to oranges. The discussion I was having was about a young man (teenager?) who had (I hope) molested someone one time. You are talking about adult "spiritual leaders" who have been grooming and molesting hundreds of boys in their care for years.

No not really. I was making the point that that is why people wouldn't lie in the Candace case. Just to "protect" the org.

Wow Nitty Gritty, so on your logic we can assure ourselves that JWs are always telling the truth if it's not going to hurt them financially on a personal level. It also means that the individual JW doesn't care less about losing money for their organization.

Well you (or someone) was alluding to the elders and publishers lying. And I admitted that yes, it is possible that they would lie, however in this case, why would they? And yes, why would they lie to save the org money? After all Jehovah looks after the org. So wouldn't affect them, however lying would.

As I recall from the transcripts, several members of the Fremont cong. made testimonies and/or depositions. A few elders and some publishers. None of them would have to reach into their pockets and pay a dime, regardless of whether they lost or not.

@azor policy of calling headquarters for direction rather than calling the police shows that the orgs concern is not for the victims but rather their pocket books.

That does not make any sense at all. If it was their pocket books the headquarters were bothered about, then it would be in their interest to leave each congregation to make autonomous decisions. In that way, if bad decisions were made, the headquarters would hold no responsibility at all. Then Candace and others would be suing the elders and the congregations, not headquarters. And guess how much money they would be able to get from individuals and little congregations?

Sometimes I think that opposers have lost all their common sense and logical thinking on their journey out of the WT.

P.S. I repeat again, no one is stopping anyone from going to the police.

@Listener how honest do you think the elders and JWs were throughout this case?

I am not saying a JW is not capable of lying, but in this case, no JW or elder had anything to lose by saying the truth, so why would they lie?
