  What message could WE send to active jehovahs witnesses we know on the eve of this memorial date.Suggestions ?

  isn`t their some unified message that all ex-jw`s could send to any and everybody they know on the eve of the memorial ?

  either by slow mail, facebook, e-mail ,phone , twitter ,blog ,letters to the editor newspapers , or whatever other means ?.

  i mean to say they have a campaign to reach as many people as possible with their memorial invitation.. why cant we have a campaign to reach as many jw`s we know to expose the wt/religion at the same time ?.

  The current JW teaching is that he has not yet arrived (Annual Meeting, October, 2012). Only that he was enthroned as King in the heavens in 1914. Kinda shoots down your second series of questions. However, only JWs who actually are current with teachings would know this. As you realize, they got some explaining to do to unravel that which they taught for decades.

  I'm not sure a campaign would ever help. It would just bolster their position that "apostates" are out to draw people away. Sorry. Just my two cents.

  i moved this comment from another thread to here as i felt it deserved its own thread.. one thing i've noticed is that the letters from paul often include the phrase "all the holy ones", such as at eph 1:15. some translations render this "all the saints".

  it seems to be differentiating two groups.

  those who are "holy ones" and those who are not.

  Ok. This should become a dead thread rather quickly. The Society actually agrees with scholars on this one. Scholars say that "the holy ones and faithful brothers" is simply naming two characteristics, holy and faithful. WT does not say differently. In fact, w83 1/1/ p. 28 says: "Paul’s letter was directed to “the holy ones and faithful brothers in union with Christ,” that is, to Jesus’ anointed followers at Colossae."

  Some translations render this:

  NIV: "To God's holy people in Colossae, the faithful brothers and sisters in Christ: Grace and peace to you from God our Father."

  NLT: "We are writing to God's holy people in the city of Colosse, who are faithful brothers and sisters in Christ. May God our Father give you grace and peace."

  ISV: "To: The holy and faithful brothers in Colossae who are in union with the Messiah. May grace and peace from God our Father be yours!"

  NET: "to the saints, the faithful brothers and sisters in Christ, at Colossae. Grace and peace to you from God our Father!"

  ...and so on.

  "Anniversary of Jesus' Death" Invitation wording

  noticed the wording change this year.

  no more memorial or lord's evening meal mentioned.. only an invitation to "the anniversary of jesus' death".

  so, my question - who has caught this phrase and what does it mean?.

For example, at Colossians 1:1,2: "Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through God’s will, and Timothy [our] brother 2 to the holy ones and faithful brothers in union with Christ at Co·los′sae"

  WTS, of course, views these "holy ones" as the anointed. The use of the word "and" seems to support two groups. I have not spent much time researching this, but wanted to put it out here to see what your thoughts are.

  James 2:26 - "faith without works is dead"

  i was contemplating this verse this morning... what did james mean by "works"?

  and it hit me like a bolt of lightning.. now, wts would have us believe these "works" are preaching and meetings.

  however, could that be what james was referring to?
