Looking at Acts 16:4 in context, it had nothing to do with just any ol' decrees that came out of Jerusalem. This is right on the heels of the main issue of why Paul went up to Jerusalem to begin with.
"I went up as a result of a revelation, and I presented to them the good news that I am preaching among the nations." - Gal 2:2
The false brothers came down from Judea, of which Jerusalem was the capitol city. The "decrees" were that the Gentiles did NOT have to get circumcised, and "to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from what is strangled, and from sexual immorality." (Acts 15:29).
This is the ONLY place in the NT that talks about decrees being followed. Thus, is was a VERY PARTICULAR set of decrees related very much to the issue false brothers were pushing onto the Gentiles.

"This is a theocracy, ruled by God, not a collection of man-made decisions. This is governed from heaven."
Not once did he mention Christ, whom God placed as head of the congregation.

New light from GB member David Splane!
by Island Man inin the latest jw broadcast splane is quoted as saying:.
"suppose there was a man who died 10 minutes before joseph was born.
would he be part of joseph's generation?

Just a note: Joseph was the 7th son. Leah had six sons already. Joseph was Rachel's first. Exodus 1:6 includes "all his brothers". So, someone who died 10 minutes before Joseph died or was born 10 minutes after he died WOULD be included in the generation since the generation included Joseph and "all his brothers."

So according to all of the above scriptures, a Biblical "generation" is between 35-40 years long
Even the Bible isn't that precise. Take a look at Genesis 15:13-16:
Then He said to Aʹbram: “Know for certain that your offspring will be foreigners in a land not theirs and that the people there will enslave them and afflict them for 400 years. 14 But I will judge the nation they will serve, and after that they will go out with many goods. 15 As for you, you will go to your forefathers in peace; you will be buried at a good old age. 16 But they will return here in the fourth generation, because the error of the Amʹor·ites has not yet reached its full measure.”
By this passage, a generation could be 100 years (400 / 4)

Missionary Deceptively/Mistakenly Misquotes Scripture.........
by The Searcher in....................on jw broadcasting.
http://tv.jw.org/#video/vodstudio/pub-jwb_201509_1_video (between 14 - 16 mins.).
allyson lee, who is a missionary in nicaragua, misquoted "a very special scripture" - acts 1:8. she said, "that the good news will be preached to the most distant part of the earth.".

Well, if they really preached the Biblical "good news", that is, Christ, then her statement would be accurate. But, they preach "another sort of good news." (Gal 1:6) -

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015) - Generation explained again
by Designer Stubble inguess the overlapping generation concept is difficult for most to comprehend.
david spane does his best to explain it again.
the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.

Such a tangled web. I have much to say, but won't... not enough time... just wanted to point out that the GB is not including the great tribulation in "all these things", thus, "this generation" ends some time prior to the great tribulation, allowing for some other group of anointed. Biblically speaking, this can't be. The great tribulation is introduced in verse 20, but Jesus said "all these things" later, in verses 33 and 34. Once again, this is the GB saying that Jesus didn't really mean what he said. -

Frederick Franz was baptized in November 1913, but was considered one of the Lord's anointed in 1914? I guess that means that newly baptized ones CAN be of the anointed.
