My mother always gave the money she got from "placing" the mag/books back to the KH. I never really gave to the KH. I always figured they had enough
money. I needed my money for my children, besides we all spent alot of money on gas going out in service all the time.
She looks awful, but I think she thinks she looks good. I knew a mother and daughter that were tanaholics. The young girl was about 25 and looked 40. both of them had skin like leather but they thought the were beautiful. As someone said, this woman will be sorry when she gets cancer!! Dumb Dumb!

much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

In all fairness (is there such a thing?) the only people actually committed to keeping the LAW (and all those wacky details of OCD observance) were
Jews who had presumably embraced a covenant. Nobody else was required to do anything except what was right in their own eyes.
It isn't so much THE BIBLE that tells us (who is "us"?) we have to do this or that nutty thing. It is the history of a particular time and place and people

I finally got through all the posts. There were some good poinst made by both sides of the argument. I had never heard of this man Dan until I heard his name on Fox which is what prompted me to click on this thread. I agree with what Terry said above. Why worry about a Law that had been done away with and only applied to the Jews? Although some of those things stated by Dan Savage are restated in the NT.
Tal, people who have previously been homophobic can change their viewpionts. Not everyone of them (us) has a closed mind. I believe everyone has a right to live as they wish and not have to fear being killed or harassed to the point of suicide or harassed at all. I saw the video and was not offended by it or the use of the word bull s..t. I Hear worse from young people all the time, but it would have been better had he not used the word. I think a good convincing argument with a good vocabulary works better.Once you attack people's beliefs, most stop listening. Their departure may have been staged because they did leave very early into the discussion. Anyway, it was a long and interesting discussion.

She is one week into her new age." I need to make some changes in my life." she says to herself. Who else can she say it to; the dogs? They are good listeners. They greet her each morning with eyes wide open and their spirts high. The little one, Tony, is so assertive and cannot enjoy the moment, his attention is always directed towards the poodle; wants to make sure he does not receive any attention. "WOW" She says outloud to herself, "that's an interesting sight! I wonder who they are and where they are heading?" She recalls that only a few months ago she just happened to look out the window to see one of those fancy bus-like travel trailers slowing down in front of her house as if to turn into the lane beside her house. She saw an 18-wheeler behind the travel-trailer traveling at a high rate of spead and said to herself "Why is that truck passing the trailer on the wrong right side where the is no road?" "DAMN! He's trying to avoid rear-ending the trailer." She stares transfixed as the 18-wheeler drives through the ditch in front of her house, bearly missing crashing into the travel trailer which, in fact has turned into the lane. The 18-wheeler crosses the lane and stops, scarcely avoiding the pine trees lining the far side of the ditch. The 18-wheeler stops. She quickly puts her shoes on and darts out the door, taking the porch steps two at a time. The truck has stopped with the truck side facing the bottom of the ditch. It is leaning dangerously, nearly jack-knifed, but still upright. When she gets to the truck, man is already climbing into the passenger side of the truck to aid the driver. Within minutes, the police and EMS arrive to help the driver. She recalls that the driver was seriously injured, but he survived. "I never know what I am gong to see when I look out my window onto this highway", she say to herself, for now, I need to go see about that hardwood floor."
