  What does shunning acomplish?

  well in order to shun someone you must dehumanize them much like what occurred in slavery.

  dehumanizing someone now allows you treat them worst then an animal.

  and now you can justify ignoring them there not human anymore.

  The Borg thinks that shunning will bring those of us who left back in line but that's not going to happen. Sure it hurts to be ignored by our former friends and family but I tell myself that I am just as important as they are and if they can live the rest of their lives without me, I can live without them. I refuse to be coerced into returning into a system that resembles serfdom. I will use my critical skills to determine what is true and what is fantasy. I will determine my own destiny.

  I used to wonder how I could have been so fortunate to have been brought up in the right religion so as to gain everlasting life. Oh how wrong I proved to be. So glad I left and found a new life. Thanks for your time spent on this post. I always enjoy your insight into the borg's teachings. They must think we are stupid. I cannot believe my 4 sisters and countless cousins are still blindly following this organization. Thanks for the posting.

  My beloved Poodle, Little Brother, died about two years ago, He was so smart and loyal. I bought a new Poodle right after he died, paid $2,000 for him. He isn't as smart as Little Brother and he is a wimp, afraid of everything. I still love him.

  Can't believe I haven't been on this site in so long. I always enjoyed reading what was posted. I have been on You Tube and checking out Ceder's Channel. Quite interesting watching what's going on at the Convention. I would attend one if it was close by just to see what if feels like. The borg is getting so repressive I can't believe my sisters are still in it, I remember my sister-in law and I used to wear ski pant's (which were tight pants) in the 60s and no one complained. We wore shorts on the way to the conventions and did not dress up for sessions at the convention. If I had not left in the 80s, I would sure leave now.

  Guess I need to check out whose been posting. Reading posts here has changed my life.Before I got on this site I believed in God, now I can't say there is no God, but If there is one, now I don't believe he is involved in our lives. The Hitch, Sam Harris, and Lawrence Krass have helped change my mind about God.

  some people had a penchant for posting their topics directly into the "best of topics" area.

  it seemed more than a little arrogant to me that some imagined their every utterance was immediately a greatest hit but maybe people weren't clear on what that area was intended for .... from now on you won't be able to start new topics there.

  if anyone wants to submit a topic to be added there (perhaps an index to a curated list of other topics by a user or on a certain subject / theme) then just start one in "suggestions" and pm me and, if it is suitable, then i'll move it into there.. existing topics posted there recently have been moved to more appropriate areas..

  I never realized how boring I was.

  as a true believer in the watchtower, i never knew how truly boring i was until being out for a couple of years and then sitting down with a group of jws and having a conversation..

  thats what happened this morning.

  i decided to go have breakfast at mcdonalds and a group of jws who were out in service and know me also stopped for breakfast and sat down with me and we talked for about an hour.

  Apparently, your wife has not spent any time at a university if she compares that education with a stupid dog being trained to sit and lie down. I have two degrees and I know what it takes to earn a degree. I cannot remember how many papers I have written and how many presentations I have had to present in all those classes. I have not read many of your posts but I venture to say that you are much more interesting than your wife or any other jw. I have two sisters and many cousins still in the Borg and they are BORING and self centered. I have three brothers who learned the TTATT and left years ago. We have many interesting conversations My oldest brother gave one of the main talks at the 1963 JW convention at Pasadena, CA. Just judging by the name you have chosen for yourself shows you are an interesting person. I don't dislike jws as a whole because, like the rest of you, I used to be one and behaved just like them.

  My 67 Year Old Elder Brother Is Depressed Because The Younger Elders Are Taking Over

  he was the school overseer but they relieved him of that to allow younger elders the privilege of the job.

  now he is depressed and actually shed tears, believing his worth has diminished.

  a new third edition of apocalypse delayed has been released.

  this may already have been discussed or may be old news but i just saw it on youtube.

  mr penton, the author, says he has included jws attempt to deal with 1914 and their new light on the governing body being faithful and discreet slave in this new edition.
