  I never realized how boring I was.

  as a true believer in the watchtower, i never knew how truly boring i was until being out for a couple of years and then sitting down with a group of jws and having a conversation..

  thats what happened this morning.

  i decided to go have breakfast at mcdonalds and a group of jws who were out in service and know me also stopped for breakfast and sat down with me and we talked for about an hour.

  Apparently, your wife has not spent any time at a university if she compares that education with a stupid dog being trained to sit and lie down. I have two degrees and I know what it takes to earn a degree. I cannot remember how many papers I have written and how many presentations I have had to present in all those classes. I have not read many of your posts but I venture to say that you are much more interesting than your wife or any other jw. I have two sisters and many cousins still in the Borg and they are BORING and self centered. I have three brothers who learned the TTATT and left years ago. We have many interesting conversations My oldest brother gave one of the main talks at the 1963 JW convention at Pasadena, CA. Just judging by the name you have chosen for yourself shows you are an interesting person. I don't dislike jws as a whole because, like the rest of you, I used to be one and behaved just like them.

  My 67 Year Old Elder Brother Is Depressed Because The Younger Elders Are Taking Over

  he was the school overseer but they relieved him of that to allow younger elders the privilege of the job.

  now he is depressed and actually shed tears, believing his worth has diminished.

  a new third edition of apocalypse delayed has been released.

  this may already have been discussed or may be old news but i just saw it on youtube.

  mr penton, the author, says he has included jws attempt to deal with 1914 and their new light on the governing body being faithful and discreet slave in this new edition.

  Thanks for the info on Separate Identity. Will read it. I wonder if Pastor Russell was really sincere in his belief because I don't think this governing body is sincere.I think they are just a ruthless business enterprise.

  just watched jw broadcasting about their master plan for building new kingdom halls.

  sounds like a big deal.

  So sorry about your brother being relieved of his position. Unfortunately his worth to the organization has diminished. It is apparent that the borg has no qualms about dismissing or getting rid of people who they no longer need. It is not that much different in the work force but there are laws in place to protect older workers from being discriminated against in the work force. It is a real blow to one's self esteem when we feel we are no longer worth as much as others. Hope he feels better about himself soon.

He gives credit to Barbara Anderson for her help with research on the book. Supposed to be a great book of jw history.

  The elders of the 1980s are now in their 60s and 70s

  having just come back from the uk and spoke with some witnesses to find out how my old congregation is doing, i realized i am now the age that my elders were when i was a kid.

  and i wonder what the elders who are now in their 60s and 70s are thinking when they look in the mirror and an old face looks back at them.

  many of the elders in my old hall are now retired.

  I am 71. I left in my late 30s, I have four older sisters still in borg and three brothers who long left before I did. We know our sisters will never wake up and leave. They have too much of their life invested in it.The youngest is 75 and the oldest is 87. Too much life has passed and they cannot face life without borg.Too bad, so sad. It is what it is.
