I'm 35, married, no kids (hubby has 1) inactive going on a year, not df'd or da'd. Got really lucky with the hubby, I started doing research (on the internet HAH!) went around feeling sick for about 2 weeks, finally got up enough courage to tell him that that I was having serious doubts about the jw thing - and guess what! He was having the same doubts. We both did research together, read some forbidden books (LOL) and dragged ourselves out of a cult.
Happily recovering now. :)

we all know the organization hasn't been shy about making predictions for what could happen in the future as far as the world and world conditions go.. now its your turn to state where the organization will be in 2 years, 5 years and 10 years.
what will "conditions" be like?

I, too, think that in the near future the WT org will more closely resemble other religions. Voting and blood are two of the primary doctrines that have, at least in print, changed in the last few months. Hopefully, with pressure, the attitude on shunning will soften.
I also think that the spread of information on the internet will increase at a rapid pace. It's amazing to me to read on other jw sites, how people have "stumbled" across so-call apostate sites (really just any site with differing views on jw doctrines). I don't think there are any "accidents" on the internet. If you are looking, you will find. I think many more will "find" the truth.

i have a conversation going on another site about hours and how important they are to a persons standing within the congregation.. one person is trying to say that hours don't mean anything.
that they are not that big of an issue whether you get them in or not.. would anyone here like to comment on that?.

lately i have spent some time responding to various subjects on this forum.
at this time it seems a bit necessary that i address something about myself in the hopes that it will clear up some misunderstandings.
first of all, i am not a defender of the watch tower bible & tract society.
Just to throw in my thoughts here....
It's not so much that "the Society" has changed it's views on this issue (or any issue), it's how they deal with those who do not agree with the "current" stance on those views.
How can you claim to be God's channel of communication on Earth, disfellowship someone for apostacy for not following the Bible according to your interpretation, THEN CHANGE YOUR VIEW ON THE ISSUE?
