Absolutely mrs jones, I feel no guilt anymore.
I just wish I didn't at the time and had the ability to make the time go by way faster as a child when I had no choice but to go.
imagine being at a convention, only now you have no guilt about not paying attention and you have a smartphone with internet!.
the possibilities are endless, goof off and go to starbucks or shopping or whatever and not worry about rocks raining on your head!.
i wish i didn't feel too guilty do any of that at the time!!.

Anyone else ever wish the same thing?
i was just thinking, that the wt firmly believes in demons and demon attacks.. so, what would the elders do if an unmarried sister became pregnant and told the elders that a demon attacked her and got her pregnant?.
i mean, mary got knocked up by some magic sperm so it's not too much of a stretch!.
(ok so i know this is beyond stupid but just throwing it out there).

Thoughts?
i know gayle has already started a thread on the latest november 15th watchtower article that mentions the article on donations, but i thought a thread with a more specific title might be in order just to drive the point home for any lurkers.
i hope gayle doesn't mind!.
i've been banging the drum for a while now about what i view as the obvious signs that the watchtower is in a state of decline.. i have written the following blog articles on the subject.... http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/branch-closures-and-fire-sales-a-growing-trend-for-the-society.
I remember an article about donations a few years ago.
It was a two page spread I think with illustrations showing houses and jewellery and life insurance policies that could be left to the society.
I was 'in' at the time but I found it to be in very poor taste to ask for jewellery and for your house when you die!
Can any one find it and upload it on here? I don't have the wt library CDROM but it was a shocking dusie!
hi, everyone.. for many jws all they ever hear about is how wicked the world is and how it has gotten even worse lately.
the media does not help either.. and even for many ex jws who still have family who are still in, we have to listen to all that doom and gloom about the end of this system.. but, i would just like to recommend a website i found, (not sure if that violates jwn rules) .
its not religious at all, but is a news source of many heartwarming stories and news articles from all over the world that show just how wonderful life and and people can be.. i find it's a great antidote to remind us that the whole world is not wicked and in fact wickedness is still in the minority!.
A few months ago I was having to make small talk with an elderly jw, and of course all he ended up talking about was jw things,
And as he was proclaiming this system was in the very last days and it can't be long, only a few years left at most he said, how wicked the world is and how its financally down the toilet. Across the street from us was a young mother walking while her adorable little child happily riding her little bike. To see that innocence was heartwarming to me to see that there is love and goodness in the world.
They can't see it tho. Neither did many of us when we were in.
But it's there.

Just wanted to share.
hi everyone, this is sort of a long story but i'll try to keep it short.. mrs inisc was previously married, and before our wedding the elders were giving us a bit of a hard time as her divorce was nigh on complete but just wasn't officially finished, however what they were really concerned about was they weren't sure her ex husband had had "relations" as they like to say,as there wasn't enough satisfactory evidence in their opinion.
this of course made me almost catatonic with rage, especially since we hadn't been to a meeting in about 6 f'ing months and this was what they were worried about.
and i might add the wedding was entirely booked!.
Hi everyone, this is sort of a long story but I'll try to keep it short.

And now I have just learned that a sister who is widowed has been df, for not stopping contact with a brother who is separated from his wife. Now they have been seeing each other for a while and they are both scripturaly free to remarry. Her as she is a widow, and him as his wife had an affair and he moved out quite some time ago. The divorce proceedings are ongoing and will be finalised in a few months.
So what is it that the elders want?
They ain't happy if you are legally divorced as this doesn't count in gods eyes apparently,
And they ain't happy if your scripturaly divorced but the legal side isn't finished yet.
Either way it seems they just don't want anyone to find happiness and would rather everyone stayed either in an unhappy marriage or stayed single.
What gives?

Welcome Apollo, another newbie!
Theres a lot of us!
i knew a sister in my old congregation that had two sons and i actually studied with one.
i left the org, went back to college, new job etc.
then i ran into her about ten years later at a store.
There was one in my cong, was under the label of study for at least 7 years or so. She attended every meeting, out in FS, answered, the lot.
But couldn't move up to unbaptised publisher.
She was a not so secret, secret smoker.
She eventually quit, the meetings that is not cigs!
has everyone heard of him, robert king?.
i occasionally have a look on his site, at times when im not sure what i believe.
i'm sliding towards atheism but i'm not completely sure either way.. the more reading i do of things of a scientific nature, the more i edge towards no god, but i like to analyse both sides of an idea.. anyway, whenever i read anything on kings website, it just seems he is a bit of doomsday cultist himself, i mean he has all these links to conspiracy sites, and all manner of negative scary articles about nuclear war and famine etc.
Yeah people do get sucked in. I guess it sounds convincing. Just like at first, the WT seems to have all the answers.
At first, so does King.
Then you realise he's another doomsday cultist WTesque prophet.
