Long prayers at the hall
by JH inin every congregation there is always a brother who gives a marathon prayer.
in my congregation there was a brother whose prayers were so long that i decided to time his prayer with my watch.
it lasted about 3-4 minutes.

I was like Fredom96....I never payed attention to what was said. After 20 seconds or so my mind would wander...I would start to daydream.
Not to change the subject....but did anyone here hate to say a prayer?Being a woman, this didn't come up too often, but when it did(like during a biblestudy with only sisters present),I would do everything possible to get out of saying the prayer.I had no idea what to say(thank you jehovah for this day of life...um....thank you for giving us the oppurtunity to study your word......um....umm....ummmmmm....please forgive us for our many mistakes......ummmmmmmmmmmmmm....thank you for sending your son to sacrifice his life for us..........ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...thru jesus name, amen),and my face would be red from embarrassment.
Just curious if I was the only one who felt this way.

Oh no!Who will study with me?!
by bittersweet ini'm a little frightened after reading one of the study articles in the feb.1st watchtower.. what well meaning individuals will be fighting to study with me when they read the second study article?who will help such a weak one as me build up faith and appreciation?oh yeah, and can they count their time?after all,i am baptised.. maybe i will start knocking on jw's doors and say,"hi,i realise that you are an active member of the jw organisation, but i am here to welcome you into the inactive flock.i am willing to study with you,so you can appreciate how you have been mislead for so many years.
" do you think there will be any takers?.
seriously though,i will have to start screening my calls and not answering my door(better yet,i will just let my dogs out).after 4 years of people not caring, now that they are told to,they will come in droves!

I'm sure someone will be knocking down your door now to study with a weak one such as yourself.
Oh yeah, and the answer to all your questions will be........just wait on Jehovah...in time he will reveal the answers to all your questions....in the meantime, study, study, study!

Is There ANYTHING That Would Make You Go Back?
by SpannerintheWorks incould the wbts change anything about it's beliefs that would entice you back to the religion?.
or are you firmly against the wbts no matter what?.
even if it changed it's rules on shunning, blood, "worldly things" ?.

Hey tweetie!
I had to rummage through my husbands stuff to find the Watchtower(because I had heard about). The article talks about how good little jw's need to reach out to inactive ones.Inactive ones aren't completely lost, just weak individuals who need the congregations help. The article mentions one way weak ones can be helped is to study with them, thus bringing them the "spiritual food" they so desperately need,so they can be encouraged to come back to the loving brotherhood of the jw's.BLAH BLAH BLAH...and so on and so forth.excuse me while I go vomit.........
You are fortunate to have not had acess to that article(and all other jw junk).
Hope that helped clarify things Tweetie! Take care

Welcome Eric!
Glad you decided to post and introduce yourself.I am impressed that you have already decided to leave,at age 22.I wasn't brave enough til I was 29.Baptised at age 11,YIKES!I waited til I was 15,lol.
I am in the same boat as you.Not disfellowshipped or disassociated, just slowly faded away.It is a great feeling to free yourself from this religion.I look foward to reading your future posts.
Take care,Charlene
