Hey Corvin why don't you tell us how you really feel !
Acsot of the definitely-not-pro-Bush class.
i and others here have always stated that the question was not if iraq had wmd, but where did they go?
looks like some here were too quick to judge the us on this issue... .
funny too that the liberal press is not picking up the story.... un inspectors: saddam shipped out wmd before war and after special to world tribune.com .

how sorry i was to hear from dansk-he is going through a very difficult time.. i would like all prayers, thoughts, please keep this in mind ____ for me!!!!.
the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!
they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".
Thanks for the update Dansk. I've read and heard from others with cancer that attitude is a large part of the battle against cancer. You sure have the right attitude, about the disease and life and WTS indoctrination. I'm sending positive thoughts your way .
moose is the puppy, and ladybug is our older basset (teenager, really -- she's almost 2).
moose gets into the funniest sleeping positions, as illustrated below:.
i love how ladybug carefully curls herself into a tight ball and wraps her tail around her nose!
OMG tooo cute!!! That first one is hysterical! Pets are wonderful, they give unconditional love and are entertaining as well!
i have just returned from spending a week in the company of frenchbabyface, (fbf) and would like to share some basic observation that i feel will enlighten my fellow countrymen and women about a people we, as a culture, actually know very little about.
i do believe the medias of both countries do not show their people an honest and forthright view of the other countries people.
the american media gives us almost no news of france and most of what we do get is not very positive.
Hillary: you may also want to check out "Huitième Jour" and "Germinal". I loved both those films.
Yeru: so your standard of excellence is how much money is made? I guess by that standard National Enquirer is a great newspaper and Harlequin Romances are right up there with the great classics of literature .

Thanks for the review Blondie!
The congregation I "attend" is very large, 140+ publishers. Of course, there aren't that many on the best attendance day - Sunday, even including many visitors from outside the city/country, since this is the only downtown English speaking congregation. There are many, many young ones in this hall, early 20s, and many are pioneers. They have moved into this congregation because of their friends them to move in, so they all hang out together and are therefore able to have a somewhat "normal" life in that they go out on weekends together, movies, restaurants, maybe an Irish pub, etc. Of course, this drives the elders crazy 'cause they feel these ones are playing dangerously close to the "world" and may get themselves in "trouble" (Watchtower definition of trouble).
I think that if the WTS survives at all, it will because of ones like these, who manage to toe the party line somewhat while trying to get on with their lives in their own way. What it will all mean when this younger generation starts to move out, settle down and have kids of their own will be interesting to see.

according to a pro-islam website... islam?s history is filled with conquest and violence.
i was intrigued by another posters post about how the crusades were in response to the muslims invading the western world... so i had to do my own research to see if this was actually true.. as it turns out, the muslims have a habit of trying to take over the world.
Mary, I get what you're saying - (believe it or not !) It's just that I've seen here how, once removed from dictatorial governments/cultural isolation, many Muslims' lives are freer and they are able to pursue their dreams/wishes/careers unimpeded by extremism while still practising (or not) their religion according to the way they choose.
I guess it's kind of like what came first - the chicken or the egg!

Mary and Heathen:
You both obviously haven't read anything Abaddon has written; a reasoned, rational argument with plenty of examples to prove it. He hasn't defended any type of extremist, of whatever political or religious persuasion they may be. If you had read his posts you'd know that. The use of sweeping generalizations and in some cases insults certainly doesn't bolster your hard-line stand on the topic.
earlier this year, i posted that my mom suffered a stroke and we had to put her in a nursing home.
i got a call a little while ago that my mom just suffered another stroke.
she's in the hospital in icu.
I know what you're going through; my mother had two strokes last year, plus a heart attack. Incredibly, she's still alive, needs lots of care (health care workers stay with her during the day) but so far I can keep her at home with me.
Keeping positive thoughts going your way(((EL Kabong))
okay as my jwd friends and acquaintances know i'm trying for "the perfect fade", because family is in etc etc .
but i've just taken some "bigish" steps for me.
(babysteps in reality i suppose.
Good for you! If you look at my older posts, you'll see I went through the same thing, very nervous and tentative first steps at hanging around with "worldly" people, but it gradually gets easier.

Even the most liberated Muslim woman STILL cover themselves all up like good little girls, to show their submission to men.
Please be more precise. Are you talking about women living in, for example, Saudi Arabia? Or Muslim women living in western lands? I work in a law firm and right across from my desk is a Pakistani Muslim woman. She's drop-dead beautiful, does not cover herself with a veil or burka but wears business suits just like all the other women practising law here, comes to the office Christmas party, dances, goes out with friends, in short, she lives what we call a "normal" (read: Western) life-style with the exception being that she doesn't drink much alcohol. She has had a drink or two in the past, but since she's not used to it, she can't hold her liquor well so basically avoids it 'cause it make her feel sick.
I used to live in an area of the city where many ethnic groups lived and there were many, many Muslims. The vast majority of the women, probably in the 85%-90% range, did not cover themselves. They were mostly from Pakistan, so there is definitely a cultural/geographic difference.
