i finally found one good thing about growing up a witness and not getting to go to college.
because neither my wife nor myself ever went past high school that makes our daughter eligible for a program sponsored by the bill and melinda gates foundation.
she is 14. in 4 years from now when she should be graduating high school she will have two years of college under her belt, at no cost to me.

My eldest took "early college" course when she was 15. She earned an Associate Degree while still in High School. She graduated with BS degree at age 20. All of this at no cost except for the text book. She is graduating with Master Degree in Psychology at 22. She has all kinds of prospect upon her graduation.
I wish more JWN members and lurkers would take advantage of the program.

ringtone for everyone on my contacts list. My default ringtone for anyone not on my contacts list says " there is an asshole calling" repeatedly. lol We were
in mcdonalds having lunch when he called I forgot I had my ringer set to loud so I could hear it at home so in the middle of mcdonalds my ringer goes off

asshole calling" so I answered it really fast before people started looking at me. lol if this elder guy only knew lmbo.
LOLOLOL!! My husband had that ringtone too. The default ringtone for me said, "Warning! Warning! Wife is calling!" He had to go back to a regular ringtone when his phone decided to say "there is an asshole calling" for everyone including me. LOL!

That whole "selective enforcement when it comes to the family of elders" deal is incredibly maddening to me: I served as a Captain in the USAF about 10 years ago, and there were some violations of sub-ordinates where you absolutely could NOT "play it by ear" or do anyone favors, without facing getting punished for not following organizational policy. JWs follow that whole "rank has it's privileges" BS thinking which has been purged from many other organizations namely for what it leads to: abuse of power. Meanwhile, the R&F JW is told that sharing in the secret is tantamount to sharing in the sin... Such a double-standard, where elders are empowered to sweep matters under rugs...
Unfortunetely, their abuse and hyporitical, immature behavior will get only worse.
Anyway, play it as you must, and plot moving forward with your life: you are young, and you've got your whole life ahead of you. It may be you can only save yourself (which is sad, but often the reality), but it's better to know that now than later so as to decide which efforts are simply tilting at windmills, and throwing good money/time after bad.

no doubt everyone has been following the juan viejo postings regarding the watchtower kingdom hall "grab" on jwn for the last couple of years.
called the mrs and me to say "wow- you have to google this" we did...came here to jwn ...became members..and the rest is history.. in the last nine months i have been calling and emailing contacts in the silicon valley for verification on the societies theft and forced sale of the menlo park kingdom hall (near the new facebook heaquarters) because the story seemed...a little far fetched.
every reliable contact i made has confirmed what juan reported.
I know for a fact that there is a concerted effort by elders in congs around the menlo area to discredit and demonize the Cobbs. I have no doubt that the source of the slander is headquarters.
Absolutely! It's all from the top. Those disfellowshipped ex-elders are completely wasting their time and energy on Appeal Hearing. They have a zero chance. The only option for them is taking a legal action.
