  Well, my "average Canuck Joe" hubby may agree with your above comment especially on his Asian wife not being very submissive or talk back. Those submissive days are over with along with her former belief , the Watchtower nonsense. Not bad for him though, for a middle age man who started his second chance with nothing, finding himself secure financilly than ever has been in his retiring age. His frugal and know-how-to-handle-money Asian wife truned out to be more than a slender, sweet lo oking woman.

  The Secret is instead of getting hook up with a woman who deseperately trying to get out of her native Country or their current situation in seeking a sugar daddy, finding a woman who is happy with where and who they are but willing to move whereever for a true companionship. Don't offer any financial assistance(especially in the begining of relationship) except your heart.

  Joe, at least you were wise enough not to become a witness when your were persuaded. I was a big time sucker for the Watchtower. Don't we all learning from our past mistake?

  hawaii recently enacted a new law that allows victims of childhood sexual abuse a two-year window to file a civil action-even if in the past you were told that, because of a statute of limitations, you couldn't.

  A thread for those who have no support system or a place to go due to shunning.

  reading the recent thread about the young lady who just ended her life got me thinking that maybe there could be a thread that is easily accessible to anyone who may need help due to homelessness from losing their families and friends to shunning.

  too often i hear stories about people who have lost everything, and have no where to go, and at the same time having no type of support system.

  unfortunately there are some who are so lost that they feel that there are no options besides taking their own life.. i think that a website that matches people in need to others who can help in some way would be a great idea.

  (many many moons ago) that I had any rights at all! As a 15 yr old kid

  I struggled to find a place to live & a job ... oh I could go on .....

  the sad part is, that it wasn't my responsibility ..there was help & I didn't know it!

  Appropriate housing, food, clothing, emotional and mental support, basic education(that is 12 grade) are some rights of children(age 17 and 12 month-1 day, other words a day before 18) that are lawfully granteed to be provided by parents. Your parents should had been arrested for child abuse. The Child Protective Service would love to go after such illresponsible and abusive parents. Sorry clarity

  reading the recent thread about the young lady who just ended her life got me thinking that maybe there could be a thread that is easily accessible to anyone who may need help due to homelessness from losing their families and friends to shunning.

  too often i hear stories about people who have lost everything, and have no where to go, and at the same time having no type of support system.

  How nice of you, Ohiocowboy!

  I likewise offered my home in another thread for those who are in a dire need of shelter. We have an extra room. We are in the Eastern part of the US. If you are 17 and under, please contact the Child Protective Service in your area for an immediate assistance or contact me or Ohiocowboy(I don't believe we can take an under age in. We can be charged as a kidnapper).

  Thetis, I never unsterstood how witnesses kicking their children out without arranging an any alternative arangement. When my disfellowshipped 20 year old step-daughter showed up middle of night as a homless(she was living another state when she got df'ed), we took her in without a question and helped her until she can be on her own feet again. Of course, both my husband and I got restricted from the congregation for that but hey, that was the last thing we concered. Keeping your position and priviliage are more important that denying natural affection...it's only happening in an extreme cult.

  in doing some research a few years back, i came across the use of "breaking session" as something used to control cult members by leadership.

  initially, i dismissed this a something smaller, more extreme cults use - and dismissed it as a technique used by the jw org.

  LG, I am an eye witness of the above statements. The Judicial Committee was using this exact methods to a 14 year -old. The Judicial Committee even thretened to marking me if I would tell other witnesses especially mothers of their inhumane methods of "Breaking Session" to a 14 year old kid. Of course, I wasn't going to go along with their monstrous action. I wrote a big fat letter to the JC and let them know that they were nothing but monstrous interrogators. At the end I got DF'ed as well in order to cover up their crime of child abuse.

  as many of you know, i've been disfellowshipped for over 3 years now.

  in the spring of this year i did write to the local boe and request my disfellowshipping be rescinded.
