  Bible Error: Peter Denies Knowing Jesus

  in the dialogue below, jesus scoffs at peters claim that he will give his life for jesus.

  he tells peter that before the sun comes up in the morning--before the rooster crows--peter would that very night pretend he did not even know jesus.. .

  readers should note especially that in the john passage below, jesus is predicting that the rooster would not crow until after peter has denied knowing jesus three times.. .

  "most importantly Peter denied Jesus and THEN the cock crowed."

  "the writer of John 13 above says Jesus predicted there would be no crowing"

  "Jesus is predicting that the rooster would not crow until after"

  " the King James Version--shows that there was a cock crow after the first denial"

  "And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew."

  " And immediately the cock crowed a second time."

  "there's no discrepancy in Mark's story: three denials are made before the cock crowed twice,"

  " How many times and whether the crowing took place after the third denial or before does not negate the statement"

  there was a cock And the cock crowed!

  i was getting ready to leave when i overheard this and started watching it.. paul crouch is promoting this new book "the true forquan" (forqan).

  it is written by arabic christians who are said to be scholars and the book has been qouted as being "a revealing look inside the koran".

  they have already sent out 1300 copies and it is free so if anyone is interested here are the links.. .

  i would just like to thank everyone for the excellent posts that have appeared here on this site.

  i esp would like to thank simon for making this possible.

  i sincerely believe that the "net thang" will continue to play a role in helping jw who are sincerely searching for a confirmation that all their doubts and wondering over the years was not the result of them being spiritually weak.

  It won't be the same round here for awhile with you not posting.

  In your post you said one thing that especially hit home for me and that was
  " I beleive that Information is indeed Power"

  Everytime I would come accross a scripture in the Bible that referenced to Jehovah saying that very thing it never failed to stir up my brain cells and wake um up.
  It never seemed to fit. There was always something wrong with that picture.

  How can one possibly follow the advise of god BUT only on conditions?
  I guess thats why I'm here and not there.

  The Memorial has just Started

  well, it's almost 7pm in sydney australia and no doubt some congregations would be starting their memorials very soon, if not already.

  due to the overcast conditions, i can't see the moon, but one of the special things about this time of the year is seeing the full moon, which reminds me of the specialness of the memorial ritual held for me as i was growing up.. this is the second time in my entire life that i will be absent from the memorial.

  it was strange last year to be not attending for the first time ever, but this year i feel more comfortable about it.. i'm not sure why.

  we're glad to have you aboard.. we usually like to acknowledge the first posts of newbies but i fear that because of the huge number of posts being made many of us have not been able to keep up with everything that's happening.. so i'd like to take the opportunity of saying a special "welcome!

  i just stumbled onto this website whilst messing about on the internet and i've taken exception to quite a lot of what i've seen here.

  incase you think i'm some irate jehovah's witness idiot who's been offended by the terrible blasphemy that he's read on here, i'm not.

  i was raised a jw, but now i'm not one.. first of all, given the url, i thought this website was in some way affiliated with the jehovah's witness organization, whereas in reality it seems from the posts i've read that most people here are either former jehovah's witnesses or soon-to-be former jehovah's witnesses.

  I was raised a JW but I can still relate to that. "ONE" of my uncles
  refused to talk to us or have anything to do with us about 30 years ago when he discovered from his religion (The Paul and Jan religion Now) that all JWs are the "Anti Christ" He called his OWN SISTER the Anti Christ. 30 years later he still has nothing to do with her. His Choice.

  hello,.

  some of you who have 'drifted' from the wts may not be aware than in recent months the wts has required co's to report the names and circumstances of those who have become 'inactive'.

  the elders are required to visit each one and report to the co on his next visit as to where they are, who they are and why they have gone 'inactive'.. as ever there may be mixed motives with this arrangement, but it as well to be prepared.. best regards - hs
