How common is it to see the old nature of religious men and women trying to reach some artificial standard of conduct laid out for them by a religion or church, thinking that by doing so, they are somehow holy. Yet, the apostle Paul makes it plain that if we seek to justify ourselves by following laws or rules, we are still under condemnation, and Christ is useless to us (Gal. 2:15-21).
Thank you Randy for that post. Enjoyed reading it.
Also, I remember Floyd Kite well. A very animated man he was.

This is funny. Men were cautioned not to wear sandles to the meetings unless ofcourse they had a broken foot or something. Nope Dress shoes all the way. BUT! Women could wear sleeveless dresses and blouses. And I've seen many arive at meetings in stuff that looked more appropiate for a night club. Tight dresses and Stilettos 4in.and higher.I don't know where you live, but we could wear sandals here. There are 'dress' sandals for men, and they wore them too, with socks.
One congregation where my cousin grew up, didn't allow sisters on stage in sleeveless dresses or blouses.

OH OH OH and what about
A borrower nor a lender be.
The society borrows money from itself with interest. So it is BOTH a borrower and a lender

Plum Here.I exceeded my limit. I don't know how, I just did.
What I need some help with is the megatude of rules that would be on the WT list. WHY?
I was reading another thread and thought how difficult it would be, no actually, how Jesus would be shunned and called an apostate by the GB if he were here today as a man.
Examples are as follows:
pioneer school, requirement's (in order to be acceptable and allowed to go.)
By WTBTS standards Jesus Christ would not have been allowed to become a JW much less a pioneer and go to pioneer school and no way go to gasp ....Beathel!
He more then likely would not even be allowed to get baptized because he might not approve of the questionier and that in its self would be grounds for denial. He would be instructed to recognize his attitude as "going against God"via the GB
Poor Jesus Christ Just would not have what it takes to be a JW.
We're supposed to walk in his footsteps but Jesus himself can't even do that according to what the governing body say's those footsteps are made of.
hmmm. that might be interesting to make a list of footsteps? It can't hurt.
Jesus told everyone to "Love Thy Neighbor"
That was in fact the root of his message and who we were suppose to give our alegence to.
That's about it.
No more laws upon laws upon laws.
Just the basics.
If you love God and Love your neighbor then the rest is elementary.
I thought of sending a check list to the WTS just to be annoying, that contains a list of WT rules everyone must follow in order to walk in Jesus footsteps (those footsteps that Jesus didn't make)
And another list of What Jesus said to do.
The Jesus side list is easy.
What I need some help with is the megatude of rules that would be on the WT list.
I can think of quite a few on my own but I think if members d the board added to the list it would be a much
more interesting finished product.
PLEASE Add YOUR most hated or stupid WT rule to the list

Mount Carmel
There are several important caves on Mount Carmel near Haifa in Palestine. Tabun Cave has a long sequence of deposits of ACHEULIAN and MOUSTERIAN type; the latter levels include a skeleton of Neanderthal type. The nearby Skhul Cave has burials of eleven individuals, formerly regarded as NEANDERTHALS, but now usually regarded as closer to CROMAGNON, or hybrid or transitional. The Wad Cave has a sequence of Upper Palaeolithic deposits with important NATUFIAN levels at the top and on the plateau outside; associated with this are numerous burials .....

If Armegeddon came the way the WT has always depicted it. Why aren't they talking about the mega tons of trash they will have to clean up?
It took almost a year to clean up ground zero working non-stop day and night. But yet these JWs are talking about having party's and vacations in exotic places with absolutely nothing to do but enjoy the day's and nights basking in the sun and moon lights. LOL
