There is no question or debate the JWS religoius cult breaks up families.
This is so true and I see another side to the issue. Some families are already messed like powdered ready made-soup, just add water. Some JW family thrive and keep communication open as family is sacred. Then you have other families that are already with issues and being JW only makes things worse.

At that time I answered YES, because I still did believe it was God's organization -- but that it had become corrupt just as the Jewish religious system at the time of the Pharisees had become corrupt
They want you to say that the Jehovah speaks to the organization but they don't provide you any proof of divine intervention. At the same time, they say that Jehovah doesn't intervene in human affair in modern times.

I disagree completely that racism is on life support. Trump and his supporters have made things much worse than they used to be. Racists are emboldened and are more open in acts of racism (e.g., spraypainting swastikas, attacking Asians on the street, throwing around hateful slurs).

when i was a witness i knew what my beliefs were and could defend my views, even if it really was wrong.
i understood jw doctrines .
i could define what the faithful and discreet slave was.

It's tacky doing that, isn't it? I get that being a JW mattered to the guy, but... it comes across as tasteless.
When you were a good JW, did you have a different view on JW funerals?
There are things about the JWs that I cannot stand now but those same things didn't bother me when I was a true believer

so i arranged a very simple committal at the crematorium---no religious service-and i was his only relative there--plus 2 of my friends and 2 staff from the care home . There were no jw's there--probably because i never told any of them.
@stan livedeath Was it strange for you to be at a funeral with very few people?
I have a feeling that selling the Halls will take such a long time that they will decide to send the sheep back for regular meetings in order for them to drop money in the boxes while they attempt to sell off the Halls.
that is likely a short term solution and as you said, selling the KHs will be the long term goal. I wonder how much money the org lost due to the pandemic and people not being able to meet at the KHs/Assembly.
Will the savings on travel/magazine reduction, etc mitigate the effects of less contributions from the meetings?

That said, this is only relating to the JW vs the World.
The only time a JW will be in the same reality as everyone one is when it comes to something like Sex (too good to resist). There is a reason why many are Df every year. The force is too strong.
Another reality is when they see/feel injustice from within the organization, it jolts them back to reality. the reason why some left the org.
Apart from the indoctrination, some JWs like to deny reality when it suits them or when they are putting on an appearance of holiness inside the congregation.
