In the 12/15/2013 Study WT, the study article that includes page 18 discusses whether the Memorial should be held on Nisan 14 or Nisan 15. The WT holds out for Nisan 14. But see this write-up that argues that both dates are moot for Christians.

Memorial date
by DomineIvimus-DI incan someone please help me with this, if you’ve looked into it before?.
i read somewhere that the witnesses didn’t celebrate the memorial on nisan 14 according to the jewish calendar.
i did a quick google check - seems next years memorial is on tuesday (nisan 13) rather than the wednesday, nisan 14 according to the jewish calendar.

January 2020 WT, earthly hope
by neat blue dog inone of the latest wts rehashes this core jw theology.
i know it's old hat, but i feel it's always worth pointing out, as it's one of the major things to wake me up and it's relatively easily proven using the bible alone.. throughout the bible, there aremany examples of men of faith who re-ceived holy spirit; yet, they did not havethe hope of living in heaven.
john the baptistwas “filled with holy spirit.” (luke 1:13-16) jesus said that there was no mangreater than john, but then he said thatjohn would not be included in the heav-enly kingdom.

The whole thing is an example of a red herring. Tying an earthly hope or a heavenly hope or anything else to partaking has nothing to do with the Lord's Evening Meal. Partaking was always about, "keep doing this in remembrance of [Jesus]," and "for forgiveness of sins" and 'proclaiming Jesus.' (Mt 26:27, 28; Lu 22:19, 20; 1Co 11:26)
WT's arguments about this are also an example of 'framing an argument.' You will never read them saying that the problem is that some people think that partaking is something all Christians are to do.
Always the WT will say that problem partakers are mentally unstable or are holding to ideas from their previous religion. But they never mention the idea of partaking due to thinking it is what Christians are supposed to do. And yet, this is arguably the main reason JWs start to partake. From the WT's viewpoint, mentioning this idea would only spread it to other JWs.
WT's real problem is that partaking, which implies being 'anointed', involves their authority structure. In WT theology, the GB are the only sure 'anointed' (i.e. rulers). Anyone else who partakes or claims to be 'anointed' is only accepted as such on a wait-and-see basis. They are true Pharisees. (Jn 11:47-50)

Hi scholar,
607 aside (I'm for 587), but that aside, my research on the topic of Daniel chapter 4 has also led me to the conclusion that it has a dual fulfillment. I posted on it here (off site). The whole thread is on that topic. But that particular post gets to the main point of why a dual fulfillment.

Hi Blondie,
I downloaded the file and then double clicked on it in my Chromebook. It opened up the JW Library app, which then opened the OD book. (My Chromebook also runs android apps.)
So I guess the file type must be associated with the Library app (on my machine, at least).

Some one told me they were talking about it being updated in the Library app on JWTalk. From what I have seen there are changes in the baptism questions and updates reflecting the data protection laws in Europe. It has Aug, 2019 as the most recent date for the book.
Here is a download link that was posted.

Hi Doug,
Here is the Wikipedia article on it. Look also at the text in Reference 2 at the bottom.
You might also find this post of interest. (It is not directly related to the 587/86 issue, but does involve it.) All of WT dating (from the split in the kingdom and on back) is grounded on 607 BCE as the fall of Jerusalem, and 390 (from Ezek chap. 4) added to that to reach the split in the kingdom.

ALERT: French Miviludes would be in danger of dissolution

cults lobbyists managed to manipulate french politicians.
extremely sad..

Some years back I remember some dispute between France and the WT involving taxation that resulted in the WT moving their operations out of France. I wonder if MIVILUDES was involved in that, or if it was the previous organization, MILS? It seems like the timing of the change is about right. But I'm not sure on that.

Thanks Earnest for formatting the quote. The "toltalitarian combine" refers to the Axis powers. At that point in history (late 1930s) they did indeed appear to be on the way to victory. The battle of Britain, the invasion of Russia (along with the ensuing 'winter of the century'), and the attack on Pearl Harbor (which brought the US into the war) had not yet occurred. Everything appeared to be going the Axis' way.
The next booklet that discussed this ("End of Axis Powers"; 1941) foretold a draw between the Allies and the Axis. Then the "Peace, Can It Last?" talk in 1942 described an Allied victory.
The WT definitely kept up with current events. But the only part they ever discuss is the "Peace, Can It Last? talk. (See my post on this page for some additional detail.)
