Given enough time, only the power-hungry, self-serving, consciousless politician-types are left to run the show.
I would posit that this is the way all human organizations, of any type, tend to evolve.

i have noticed an apparently increasing number of men who are not interested in becoming ministerial servants or elders.
i also know of some that have voluntarily stepped down (which is my case) for no obvious solid reason.. i remember, during my teenage years or even during my twenties, the brothers were always looking forward to being appointed... although many still do, i have noticed there are many others with whom you do not know what the deal is.. since there is no freedom of speech within the organization, we remain in the dark about the motives and desires of everybody else.
i attend a congregation with only two ministerial servants, while it is full of men who do not seem to be willing to do more.. it is hard to tell exactly what is going on, since honesty is not possible while you are inside, but i am starting to think that more and more are becoming disillusioned.... .

i'll restrain myself from commenting on jw.org's perversion of this scripture - i'll leave that to others.. however, for lurkers and active witnesses here, why not ask one of your local glorious ones to explain how these non-scriptural words found their way into the silver sword, but don't appear in the original greek, or even in the kingdom interlinear.. (2 corinthians 9:13) "through the proof that this relief ministry gives, they glorify god because you are submissive to the good news about the christ, as you publicly declared, and because you are generous in your contribution to them and to all.".

The New Linguistic and Exegetical Key to the NT has something similar: "The word is used [in 2Cor 9:13] specifically to introduce or express a conviction; i.e. the obj. confession which especially has reference to confessing Christ or the teaching of his church."
The NAC-2 Corinthians commentary (p.414) has this:
The gift is also part of their confession of the gospel of Christ. The "obedience of your confession" could be a [1] subjective genitive, "obedience created by your confession"; [2] an objective genitive, "obedience to your confession"; [3] or a genitive of apposition, "the obedience which is one's confession." The first option seems best. Confession is to be more than the mouthing of pious cliches; it should lead to actions that speak louder than words.
[End quote. Bracketed material is Bobcat's for clarity.]
The rNWT rendering does seem to be a bit anomylous, though, by putting "as you publicly declared" in a separate phrase. The rNWT rendering also turns homologias (a noun) into a verb. The phrase is literally τῇ ὑποταγῇ τῆς ὁμολογίας ὑμῶν ("the submission [noun] of the confession [noun] of you").
Leaving_Quietly makes a good point that the WT maintains a different lingo from the churches. For the WT, "confession" usually only refers to repenting from sin.
Alternate renderings can be found here.

this is the situation.. ten years ago two fleshly brothers and their wives, [ all are jw's and one is an elder] defrauded an elderly couple [ she was a jw/ he was friendly]out of the possession of their home and property.
one year after that, they took the life savings of the elderly couple and parked it in an account, without their knowledge.
when the old couple found out what happened, the four co-conspirators refused to return anything.
Canada does not have the gun slinger, pioneer mentality that seems to run in some of the individual States. The U.S. states seem very protective of their power to enforce their own laws.
I get that sense here also. Thanks for the reply. Regards.

How about this:

one year after that, they took the life savings of the elderly couple and parked it in an account, without their knowledge.

"This ten year old crime . . . "
Is there a statute of limitations that might leave them an out? (I'm from the US and not totally familiar with Canadian law, nor US law for that matter.)

the march 2015 study watchtower finally solves the mystery of the sheep and the goats:.
" first, note that jesus is teaching bymeans of an illustration.
obviously, he isnot talking about separating literal sheepfrom literal goats.".
For any interested, here is a little research I posted on "the least of these my brothers" and "these least ones" from the sheep & goats parable.
Here and here was an analysis of the sheep & goats parable and here was a comparison of it with Rev 3:10.
Here was a short post on the indication of a literary division of the Olivet Discourse at Matthew 24:36, corresponding with the two questions posed by the disciples at Matthew 24:3. (In essence, marking Matthew 24:4-35 as Jesus' answer to "when will these things be" about the Jewish temple, and Matthew 24:36-25:46 as his answer to 'what will be the sign of his parousia and the end of the age.)

when i was in high school my late mother found out she was pregnant with my youngest sister.
Pete:
I think the main point V is making is that the entire context of Mt 24:4-35 describes a 1st century event that was to take place within that generation. In fact it did (although Josephus' figures are sometimes questioned). Most Bible commentators take Jesus' words to have been spoken in around 30-35 AD. The initial effort by Rome to quell the Jewish uprising occurred around November 66 AD under Gallus. Then the Roman campaign against the Jews under Vespasian/Titus began in the spring of 67 AD.
The flight described in Mt 24:16-20 pertained to that Jewish situation. Look through Revelation. There is no future flight like that described.
