I think the Watchtower is apt to shoot itself in the foot with its doctrines of men.

I remember a magazine article that stated how even Pioneers where kidding themselves by thinking their good works could compensate for such terrible things as masturbating and secretly accepting blood transfusions.

So, right away they have labelled masturbating as being on the same badness level as having blood transfusions.

So, I start thinking, what if I had a child, and it needed a blood transfusion but I let it die in order to please God, yet here I was, couldnt even say no to a wank, yet I would be willing to let my child die, hypocrite I labelled myself, so that realisation was probably what set me on the path to leaving.

Well done Watchtower, you transverse land and sea to make one member, then proceed to make him even more of a sinner than he allready was.

how ironic, that in hebrew the word for god is actually the name of a canaanite god el.

ive recently been facinated by the etymology of word, particularly those in the bible.

anyone can change the meanings or definition of words like we have witnessed with the generation, but the word itself cannot be changed.

From reading your article about Yahweh originally being a son of the creator God El, along with your reference to Daniel 7 and Israel being apportioned to Yahweh, is it possible that Jesus was Yahweh and that when he was on Earth and praying to his Father in Heaven, he wasnt praying to Jehovah, but to El?

Or am I just getting even more confused.

there is no shortage of ex-elders, behelites, ex-circuit overseers on this forum that continue to spout their hatred for christians, even as they did while leading their former adherents down the same path.

the new religion for these preachers of paradise, is materialism.

in their view, science is the arbitrator of truth.

Is there no room on this forum for folk who do belive in God but no longer belive in the Watchtower.?

One of the reasons I never joined this forum previously, is that it seemed to consist of blasphemers and God haters.

There are many trapped inside the organisation who are going to be put off the help this forum can give them in a Spiritual way, if they perceive this forum is not just anti-Watchtower, but anti-Bible.

Not meaning to be rude, but Iam astounded to learn folk here where acting as Ministers of God, even being Min serves and Elders, teaching people how to relate to a God that they plainly never in thier lives knew in the first place!

my name is michelle and from the age of 3 i was brought up one of jw.

my parents became witnesses whilst in germany when my father was stationed there with the british army.

we then came back to england where i lived in darwen, lancashire, and attended darwen, bolton and blackburn congregations over the next 18 years.

I did have friends North of Manchester that we would often hang around with, and Ive a feeling Boston was one of the congregations.

let the honest-hearted person compare the kind of preaching of the gospel of the kingdom done by the religious systems of christendom during all the centuries with that done by jehovahs witnesses since the end of world war i in 1918. they are not one and the same kind.

that of jehovahs witnesses is really gospel, or good news, as of gods heavenly kingdom that was established by the enthronement of his son jesus christ at the end of the gentile times in 1914.

Can i defend my Faith?

so i thought ill check to see how "strong" the things are i believe in.

im still hooked to allot of the wts's teachings, and i still believe in allot of them , even thought i have enough questions of my own to start my own bible school.. so what would you ask me as a "witness" now, so i can try and defend my faith and by doing so, that i might learn something about myself, and what i believe in..

Question 3 for instance, the JWs claim all those "miracles and Fireworks" of Revelation, where fullfilled by themselves in a sort of invisible way via the preaching work. I think JWs are going to be most suprised when those Revelation plagues happen as literal events that the ungodly masses wont be able to denigh, more so than even in Moses day, for what was written before, is a pattern for things to come.

A question for you, the whole religion, the authority of the self appointed "Faithfull and Discreet slave", all rests on their claim they fullfilled scripture from Daniel 12 in 1918/19, but in order to fit themselves in with this prophesy, they can only think of the 1922 Cedar Point Ohio convention to "fullfill" Daniel 12 verse 12.

Do you honestly think the climax of the book of Daniel, the most happy thing the Angel could point to during Jesus second coming, was an assembly that most Witnesses themselves cannot tell you about, let alone the world at large, was that convention even better than JWs surviving arrmegeddon and stepping into Paradise?

For if it was not, the whole JW religion falls like a stack of cards.

My Father side of the family are Prussian, refugees from the Polish persecutions of Germanic Prussians after World War 1, so I would like to get to see what was once Prussia, but is now Poland, maybe Danzig or even Konigsberg.

i am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses(well mentally that is)---however i am a christian...i recently started reading different translations from www.biblegateway.com...jesus is so different to how the jw's teach....and god...i mean, i still am learning and confused about certain things but i am in love with them.... it's obvious that the jw's are not an organization of god.i don't think god is working through an organization but through individuals...however i am going to speak to an elder tomorrow about my issues---all of them---and i'm going to tell him everything--what i've been reading,where i got it from---everything!!

i'm not hiding anything!

i have done no wrong....i just want to be a true christian and if they disfellowship me for seeking answers then this is not where i need to be.

Well done Ms GrowingGirl, seems Jesus is starting to call his true Sheep out of the religions of man, and you are one of them, theres a scripture somewhere that says something like, " my sheep will know my voice" and"they keep following the Lamb wherever he goes".

Some cautionary advice, its not just a question of not having family in the troof, at least you have Spiritual peers there, it does become Spiritually lonely in the world where you are the only Christian in a world of the unGodly, this is why personally, I do not actively seek to stumble active Witnesses out of the orgainsation for fear that if they are not storng enough, they will completely lose a relationship with God, and I feel even a difficult relationship whilst in the Org, is better than no relationship.

You however, have got to the stage where you cannot "do" the troof, cannot go on the field service telling people what you know realise to be untruths, cannot partake willingly in known Idolatry and creature worship, so you must leave anyway.

From my own experience, keep reading the Bible, keep praying, sometimes I drift away from God, but he allways has me back when I walk back towards him, he is that "Love".

I even get to do Ministry.I read my Bible in front of people at work, its amazing how much more people will listen to you when you havnt got the stigma of being a Jehovahs Witness, I have given away many Bibles to some of these people.

Hang on there, soon the "Two Witnesses" will come and all Jesus flock will be gathered together where you will find real Spiritual Joy to be united with others the same as you that have been called.

Maybe you also now "partake"?
