Thinking of becoming a JW.

hi,.

i am new to here so please be bear with me.. i have always believed in god, but was never baptised, my parents wanted me to make up my own mind religon wise.. i am thinking of becoming a jw and am just needing some advice on how to do this, bible study and jw beliefs.

also do jw say grace and how.. i am greatful of any help.. thanks.

"Friendship with the world is emnity with God", the JWs view the "World" as everyone not a JW.

You think you are lonely now, wait until you find you can have NO FRIENDS, except other JWs.

As a single woman, that means you will get to see other people at the meetings or when you go knocking on peoples doors, now and then you might be invited to a Witnesses house for dinner, but dont count on it, married Sisters will view you as a threat, you will join a great number of other single sisters that will far outweigh the number of single Brothers that are available, and they will be going for the younger sisters anyway.

This means, you will commit yourself to a lonely life of spinster-hood.

And when that lovely young man at work invites you to go for a meal, you will have to say no, because you will belive that is what God wants, instead you will go home to be alone and cry at how your life has gone by and you have been left behind.

I know because it has happened to me, I turned away countless gorgeous Women who asked me out, but I was "faithfull" to this organisation and now I reap my reward of being too old now to ever find Love and can look forward to a wasted life and then dying alone.

Finding God however, is a good thing, though hes not a Genie in a bottle who will grant you a wonderfull life right now.

The JWs do not have a copyright on God, you can buy a Bible, read it again and again, you can pray to ask God to be your friend, you can say "Grace" yourself at home, then maybe join a dating site or something and find a good Spiritual man, not religious, Spiritual, tell him you are shy and need bringing out of yourself.

You dont need the Witnesses to find God, in fact they will turn you away from him,

Just visited ex-Mormon site

for some reason i thought i'd have a look see at an ex-mormon site.

very similar experiences, difficulties, pain etc for them , as us.. one girl made a statement that really stood out, she said that for a born-in , especially one whose family had been in for years , it was like " losing citizenship in a country that contained all of your history, all of your culture, and all of your heritage.".

i think that is so true, we leave and are immigrants in a strange land and culture that we know nothing about, no wonder it takes us a while to adjust..

one is easily thrown off track, if while reading revelation 13:18, he/she begins by believing that this following scripture is talking about every man alive ever since the creation of adam; for such is not the case at all; but is talking about only one single individual.

this man in question, is obviously a marked man according to revelation 13:17!.

I fully agree with your account regarding the Great City of Babylon the Great being Jerusalem, just a comparison of Matthew 23v35 with Revelation 18v24 is enough to show this, I have read however another interpretation of the 666 identity in that it describes the Seal of Soloman that the Isreailis call the Star of David and use on thier flag, interesting about the colour red as it was the Rothschilds who brought the six pointed star into use as the identifying mark of modern Isreal, and the name Rothschild literally means Red Shield.

If you go on Youtube and put Aaron Russo interview in the search box, you can hear his claim of friendship with Rockefeller family and thier plan for all monitary transactions to be performed through an embeded chip in your hand, that"nobody might buy or sell" without said chip.

hello, i've been lurking in this forums for a while but its only now that i've created an account.

i'm an inactive jw, been in and out sporidically these past few years, but its only these recent months after reading crisis of conscience and christian freedom that i think i will never go back there again.. the reason i've been inactive primarily is because i have issues regarding masturbation and porn.

my conscience cannot allow to continue preaching while i continously being overcome by these habits myself.

You and me both Kassad, and thats one of the reasons I came out, couldnt be a hypocrate so in effect, disfellowshipped myself.

Ive since come to the conclusion that humans cannot "cure" themselves of sin as the Watchtower trys to get us to do, if we could completely resist sin, then why we would need Jesus?, the Mosaic law taught us this, hopefully, us sinners are going to be counted as the righteous because we are the ones who acknowledge we are completly lost without Jesus, the good doctor who came to save the likes of us, not the self righteous who have no need of repentence.

There are some things you should be aware of before becoming a JW that the JWs will not draw your attention to.

One such thing is that you must reject your chance of living again after death in exchange for the privilage of becoming a JW, a bit like the pact musicians make if they sell thier soul to the Devil.

Read John Chapter 6 in a Bible where you will see Jesus state the requirement for everlasting life is to eat his flesh and drink his blood, then find out about the Witnesses most Holy day, when they refuse to do such at the memorial.

any of you been told by the jws that the current food crisis is fulfillment of the revelation prophecy of the horsemen?

they are really talking about it now and how a days wage is worth nothing.

Just because Bible prophesy might be coming true, it doesnt mean that the JWs are right and are the FDS, remember they have been saying this for 100 years, therefore they are a fullfillment of prophesy themselves, ie the prophesy about false religions saying Jesus has arrived before he really does arrive, "do not go after them".

Weird stuff that only an exJW would know

i was thinking tonight about all the wierd stuff that i viewed as totally normal being brought up as a jw.... here's my list.... - eating broken easter eggs after easter was not a sin.

- your car always had to be clean in time for the co visit.

- being assigned to the car park at a convention, with a walkie talkie, meant you had powerful connections.. - the amount of lines and hand writing on your sunday watchtower, spoke volumes of your spirituality.

If you attend meetings in a differant congregation to visit friends, then you are spiritually weak because you are "missing meetings".

Hello and welcome Backslider.

I cannot see how though, that they can drop the 1914 business as that is pivitol to the 1919 business and Jesus appointing the "faithfull and discreet slave" as Master over all his possessions? The whole religion stands on that time period and without it, it will all come crashing down.

Unless of course, modern dubs are so dumbed down that they could accept the error of 1914 but not put two and two together to realise that would invalidate the GBs claim to have been appointed as the FDS.

It would also leave no further doubt that not only is this religion in error, but they are actually aware of this, but continue which would make them a delliberate enemy of God.
