Just curious - is apostasy grounds for divorce?
by LifesNotOver ini know only adultery is supposed to be grounds for "scriptural" divorce.
i'm a wicked apostate in their eyes, but my believing husband and i still can't get a divorce that would allow him to remarry.
we currently are separated - i have left him.

LifesNotOver Apostasy isn't grounds for divorce, as you said. And more specifically, porneia is grounds, not just what most people consider adultery. Even if you were making out with a guy and started jerking him off, that would count...or if you were making out with a woman and stuck your hand down her pants and started massaging her clitoris ... both of those would be considered porneia.

Brother with a beard on jw.org!
by neat blue dog inok, slight exaggeration: specifically, an official recording of the july 25th, 2016 midweek meeting in german sign language downloaded from stream.jw.org, (log-in required), includes a brother with a beard giving one of the talks:.

there's nothing right or wrong about having a beard. it's a personal choice. and there's a recent wt article that points out that some brothers in positions of responsibility have beards.

This may be a crazy question, but it popped in my head and won't leave. . So I gotta ask. . .
by Miss Worldly inok, this probably applies to most faith systems that believe in any sort of afterlife, but i would like to know what sort of explanation the jw's would come up with for this little problem, you know, after armageddon on earthly paradise.
sorry if i sound dumb, but it's been nagging at me for a few weeks and have to ask.. so, what if a young married jw couple are living their life, waiting for the big a, knowing they will be together in the earthly paradise, then very sadly one of them dies.
from what i know, if a jw dies, that's it.

I love how no one knows the answer, but that doesn't stop you from saying this or that.
The answer is that no one knows. And the official position from the WT articles is that no one knows and we do no good speculating. If a spouse dies, and the surviving spouse chooses to remain single, there's nothing to say that they can't be together after the resurrection. If a spouse dies, and the surviving spouse chooses to remarry, then they can. And who's to say the resurrected one can't be happy with that scenario. They are free to marry some hottie from the 2nd century B.C.

He was angry at himself.
And after this incident, notice he didn't ask the other elders, 'what now?' He got out the scriptures and researched for himself.

not a rumor, and nothing new. they've announced this 'use the online version' for the past 3-5 years, starting with the convention releases. and, btw, it's a 151-song songbook.

Elder asking for help
by untruth inthis is my first time posting on here so i’m not sure where to start.
i’m trying to keep it as short as possible since i could expand much more.
i’ve been in the process of waking up in the last year and a half.

untruth, you have to get that woman in line. you are her head, and what you say goes. period. as for the gb, I seem to remember that Peter was on the 'gb', and Paul had no qualms calling him out on his sh*t...in front of everyone. so stop worrying about what this means or what that means. stick to your study of the bible, and be willing to deal with the consequences of being right.

Let's not forget, Uzzah was a Levite. The ark was in his house for 20+ years. He had to know everything there was to know about the ark, or he would have died a long time ago. When David came to move it, Uzzah failed in his duties to inform David how the ark was to be moved. The fact that he thrust out his hand tells me there was a lot more going on then a simple, whoopsie daisy.

I think you should have raised the issue about the elder's qualifications with the elder.
