Im trying to find the article but i read Pentecostals were one of the fastest growing religions, but it may have been in the US only. I do remeber Jehovahs Eitneses were up there, but the info pointed to the cact they they go door to door so its a numbers game. Retention was low if I recall the info. Articles I searched for pointed to Islam being the fastest growing religion. But I havent seen any articles I didnt fell had a bias. If I find something solid I will post it. -

The Exodus confirmed..
by Crazyguy infor those of you that don't research this stuff i will give a little back story.
we all know about the moses exodus, but history and archeology didn't seem to confirm this event.
the only exodus out of egypt ever recorded was that of a group of asiatic tribes that had taken over egypt for a bit over 100 years called the hyksos and the followers of the pharaoh akhenaten who perpetuated a monotheistic idea of worshiping only one deity the aten.

Handing out candy
by mikeypants ingrowing up my parents would barricade our home off by parking vehicles bumper to bumper - you would have to crawl under the cars or over the bumpers to get to our door.
also, we would turn off all the lights and hide in the back room away from the street.. that was the norm for me.
isnt that insane?

I kinda think this is funny. But God gave me a disturbing sense of humor. Growing up we always went out to eat, by the time we got back it was to late for kids to be out. We also turned out all of the lights so people knew we didnt pass out candy. Now that im older and have kids of my own, we go to a local church and they have a harvets gest, and the kids play small gamesand get candy. Much safer then from strangers as its regulated from the church . We still check it, but safer. My wife attends the church. I dont, but we know everyone passing out the candy.
Our neighborhood gets inundated with kids, so I'm glad were not home. I mean like hundreds of kids, easily. I never much liked Halloween and not even because of growing up witness. Just never liked it. Last year we got home early and took the kids to the neighborhood house, just to say high and talk to the neighbors, that was fun.

Need the hardest evidence possible that humans have lived for more than 6000 years
by ILoveTTATT2 insince coming out of the witnesses, i have gone through a transformation in thought and in mind.
i started with the usual: i thought that jesus was god.
then i investigated more about the bible and thought that the bible was not true, given the many contradictions, failed prophecies, etc.. then i investigated evolution and read lots and now i accept evolution and natural selection as things that are true.. now, i need to make my dad rethink everything.

Read "Finger Prints of the Gods" by Graham Hancock. Solid enough for me. -

I met my wife when I wasn't really going to meetings, never been disfellowshipped. My parents always encouraged us to go out and conquer, get the best of what Jehovah had to offer. We grew up as witnesses, but they encouraged education. My siblings either have Bachelors and one has a Masters, I have my Bachelors, working on my Masters, so very opposite of what I see posted for many of you here. My parents taught that we could be more effective witnesses if we were educated, plus they knew money makes the world go round.
I guess I have to take responsibility for my own actions. I always like to drugs and parties, education took a back seat. Because of my not being a complete witness I met my wife, date, fell into forbidden love and have some kids. Would I change it, NO, I love them more than breathing, but I could go back in time, I would have joined the Army and gotten into Computer Sciences on a much higher level than I am in now. I would have learned to program younger and do that. I also didn't have many friends, I am an inadvertent about 80% of the time, so I draw a lot, I always wanted to be an animator and with computers have dabbled in computer animation.
When I was newly married I let my wife talk me out of going back to school for visual effects, I called her the "dream killer" for the longest time. Very uplifting relationship. :) but it worked itself out quite nicely. I wanted to design Video Games. But with how the world works, I learn about that sort of stuff in my spare time. Truth be told though it was all me, no one or no witness had enough controls over my life that prevented me from doing what I wanted to.

I hear pin drops all the time. When I talk to family or friends about any religious topic and its no spoon fed witness gobble gook, i get these glazed looks. I had one brother a long time ago tell me Jehovah didn't design us to know anything about the bible without the GB interpreting it for us. Hook line and sinker. My family is a little better, being educated, but still that questioning look. I tried to talk to my dad about what I thought "Sin" was, and the look. I swear he knows I'm evil but doesn't want to admit it. -

Sometimes this forum has the right topic at the right time. I too am going through this, (Sorry I haven't spilt my story yet. I'm waiting on a lonely weekend and a bottle of Jack. :). I went round and round to many churches seeking Truth. Still looking I guess. I really, truly believe in Jehovah and his love, just don't think the witness organization is 100%, even that's up for debate in the ole noggin. Eventually it has come down to reading the bible, and nothing more. I read it every day. I started at Genesis and just started writing questions, concerns and a brief synopsis. I started a private blog of my incites, but its not ever going to be public, maybe upon death.
Anyway, just read the bible, without the blinders or other stupid struggling men, who claim they can interrupt read and understand better than you. Read and prayer for understanding. Go to a church and all you get is a pastor who thinks he has more truth and knowledge about the bible than you. Read and cleave to what you believe, do a little research for yourself. If you feel the need to go to a physical building, then go. I got tired if hearing "I believe I think, etc." I always did like the fellowship, the belonging to something, the cause. Why do you think there are so many denominations, so many churches. Well we are all different and they offer a flavor that is fitting for each of us. Not everyone like vanilla.

One hope for ALL christians - interesting video on heavenly hope
by paradisebeauty inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n7qe6fqac4.
a short video with proof from the bible that the ones going to "heaven" are not meant to stay there forever, but just to meet jesus there (at the rapture) and be with him forever, on earth, not in heaven!.

I feel like I am being love bombed by all of the Unitarian videos. Although I do like the John 1:1 explanation video. Makes more sense than adding the "a". -

Waiting For The "Real Life"...
by JW_Rogue inhow many times did we have to hear this?
just another way to make you feel guilty for wanting to spend time improving yourself or enjoying life outside the organization.
to think of all the people that died waiting for the "real life" that is not coming is actually very sad and depressing.

"You don't want to be so heavenly minded you are no earth good."
I remember a witness woman, and her husband, hadn't seen them for several years, the moved, and then came back to the area. Asked them if they were going to have kids, as they had just been married, they said "No we are waiting until the new system." That answer always drove me bat shit crazy. For one it says go forward and populate the earth, but two how many scriptures say kids were a blessing. Arrrggggghh, such a stupid belief, why take the awesomest thing you could ever do and not do it. Wanted to slap them.
