Atheists don't blame God because they don't believe in God.
Many believers get angry with God depending on their loss or experience. Other believers who have experienced those same losses find comfort by thinking God has some plan or reason behind the loss.

today i added a new article to my blog taking a closer look at watchtowers doctrinal position that jehovahs witnesses should not even eat a meal with disfellowshipped individuals.
as it turns out watchtower holds families among jehovahs witnesses to one standard and holds itself to a wholly different standard.

after reading how many people live at the wallkill facility, it made me ask the above question.
after looking up what 'commune' meant in secular sources, it seems that wallkill has all the hallmarks necessary to actually be a commune.
meals complete with assigned seats and required attendance, dress requirements, wake up times, music and tv restrictions, work assignments, heirarchy making all decisions, no money being earned by the workers, the vow of poverty.....
Had to go to meetings outside the facility. Not everything you needed was available in the store either. The influx of temporary workers always livened things up a bit. Construction in the dead of winter SUCKED.
Other than the natural beauty in the surrounding landscape it was one of the most surreal and somewhat depressing times I experienced.
i am really feeling down today, can't stop crying.
i just need some words of encouragement from other parents that i will survive my kids' teen years.
my 13 year old is trying to discover/find herself, has emotional issues--since birth, cuts/burns herself secretly--she is on prozac, in regular counseling, spent time last year in a physchiatric hospital, and just generally always has stomach aches or conflicts with other peers and is flunking math as usual as well as getting bad grades in citizenship lately.. my 17 year old son is on probation for being in a fight last fall, and does illegal stuff for cash.

I gave my first bible reading in the second school when I was 5. The brothers built a set of carpeted steps so I could reach the top of the speaker stand.
In public school by the 4th grade I had gone to several oration contests and placed 1st for a speech on the dangers of drug abuse.
Through middle and high school I continued to be selected for state competitions and it was justified by my parents because much of my information was pulled directly from WT literature. For the same reasons I was also part of the debate teams for various issues even including some political subjects.
looking back on all of it now I realize what a TOOL I was, but I am greatful for the early start and the skill sets that I now have which allow me to speak out publically against sex abuse issues specifically within the WT organization.

I was also volunteered for 4 JCs in 4 years. Only one resulted in DFing and it was from a DAing letter.
Issues were alcoholism, adultery, phone sex, and masturbation. The adultress DAd.
this has been the sentiment of a few i know who have been full jws for decades.
they say the love is not there like it used to be, and it's become less personal.. anyone heard similar comments from oldies?.
we know the 'truth' ain't the truth in the first place, but i have a feeling there may be a lot of older ones hanging on just because it's all they've ever known, and it the alternative, that there is no paradise around the corner like they've always been taught us unthinkable..
I am in contact with many elderly JWs and you are spot on. They are tired, disillusioned, frustrated and feel stuck.
